Lost Judgment Cheats and Tips

Here are our best cheats and tips for Lost Judgment.

Don't explore too much in the first two chapters

If you're a veteran player of Yakuza games or if Lost Judgement is your first game of the series, it can be quite tempting to wander around and explore the city as soon as you're able to. However, I highly recommend sticking with the main story since you won't get full freedom to explore until Chapter 3 where the side cases and additional mechanics are unlocked.

Befriend local cats

In Chapter 3 after completing the side case The Forbidden Taste, Yagami can start befriending cats scattered around the city. As you befriend cats, you'll gain a considerable amount of SP and some random gifts. Once your Pawpularity level will increase and once you max them out, you'll get rare materials or even skill books.

The fastest way to increase your bond with the felines is by bribing them with cat food. Always carry around a bunch of cat food that you can buy from convenience stores. Each cat has their own preferred type of cat food so if you manage to give them something that they like, give the same type to them to quickly fill up their gauge. Feeding a cat twice with their favorite cat food should be enough to make them completely bond with you.

Drone Racing is Back

Drone Racing returns in this sequel and the basics are pretty much the same as with Judgment though in Lost Judgment, you no longer need to hunt down parts via QR codes scattered all over the city. Most of the drone parts can be developed on site by talking to the staff member as long as you have the required crafting materials. You can find the Drone Race booth on the soccer field in the northwest corner of Ijincho, beside the Batting Center.

You can obtain new Blueprints from various shops as well. These blueprints can be used for unlocking new parts for development. Conveniently, there's no chance to accidentally craft duplicate components since you'll only need to develop a part once. This ensures that you won't waste any materials and money from this process.

Visit Onedera's SP Shop

In Ijincho, there's a vendor named Onodera who runs a specialty shop in the Homeless Camp near Sunrise Bridge. His wares are available for purchase as soon as you set foot in Isezaki Ijincho. Like in the previous game, his inventory includes a variety of specialty and cheat items; the catch is that he only accepts SP as currency. Some of the cheat items he sells can guarantee a win on various gambling games like Koi-koi, Blackjack, Shogi, Mahjong, Poker, and more.

Searching for Squirrel Grafitti

There are 56 squirrel grafitti which are scattered throughout the neighborhoods of Isezaki Ijincho and Kamurocho. This side activity is unlocked at the start of Chapter 5 of the main story as soon as Yagami returns to Ijincho from Kamurocho. Head to the Seiryo High School entrance (but don't enter the building) to start the side case Squirrels Just Wanna Have Fun. This short side case will have Yagami locate and discover several squirrel grafitti.

The actual graffiti themselves provide a hint of what kind of action you need to do in order to find them. For example, a squirrel graffiti holding its ear means that you have to use your Noise Amp gadget to hear subtle sounds nearby. You must much the graffiti's hint with one of your Detective Gadgets (Noise Amp, Detector, Detective Dog and Drone).

Hunting down the mystical Kappas

The people of Ijincho has a deep connection with this mythical river creatures so there's an optional activity that will require you to find all seven statues scattered across the city. You'll start this activity after starting the side case Where the Kappa Roam.

You can find and collect these Kappas in any order. They're not story-gated so it is possible to collect all of them immediately. The actual locations of the kappas are not visible on the map but you can use the Buzz Researcher app and track rumors about it by filtering the "kappa" topic. After that, you can then "tag" the locations of the kappa. Head to the location and after locating the kappa, interact with it to summon a city representative who will retrieve the statue.

Skate the city

Skateboarding is a new method of traversing the city in Lost Judgment. You'll unlock the ability to skate as part of the story shortly after reaching Ijincho. It offers faster travel speed than the traditional sprint though you're only limited to skating on the streets. The game will automatically boot you off your board whenever you reach sidewalks or other portions of the city you're not meant to skate on. You'll also get booted off if you happen to collide with stationary objects or people. Similar to walking or sprinting, your drunkenness level will also affect how stable you can skate.

There are eight skateboards to collect and freely swap as you see fit. If you're feeling futuristic, you can even get a legitimate floating hoverboard called the Hover Drive though it's only available via DLC. Lastly, once you have unlocked the Skaters school story, you'll be able to collect coins while skating which you can exchange for items offered by the Skate Shop.

Dice and Cube Free Pass Vouchers

If you're playing Dice and Cube, you'll immediately learn that this minigame is a great source of funds. The only limiting factor is that each session requires Play Passes which can be tough to get and purchase. Thankfully, there's an option for you to unlock unlimited play. You have to collect six Free Pass vouchers to get a Free Pass from the receptionist. Here are the locations:

  1. Free Pass Voucher 1: Skateboard Prize Exchange (25000 points)
  2. Free Pass Voucher 2: During the Squirrel Graffiti hunt located in Cafe Alps, follow the clues until you reach the back alley where you can find this voucher on the top of an air-conditioning unit.
  3. Free Pass Voucher 3: Underground Casino (10,000 chips)
  4. Free Pass Voucher 4: Complete the side case "Where the Kappa Roam"
  5. Free Pass Voucher 5: Befriend 8 cats
  6. Free Pass Voucher 6: Unlock the Gambling Hall in E. Central St. Use the door code 7120 to gain access to the building. Obtain the voucher by exchanging 10,000 points.
