Lost in Blue is a unique game. It is about two survivors of a boat crash, Keith and Skye. They end up on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere. They must work together to get off the island. Exploring the island reveals vast amounts of wildlife and plants, hints at the old inhabitants of the island, and clues that may lead Keith and Skye to believe that this island may not be deserted...
For a Nintendo DS game, this game has very good graphics. The environment of the island is very realistic, along with any minigames, like fishing. The game also features pictures of real life animals and plants, making every item more realistic. Even the characters themselves move in fluid motions. The graphics are amazing.
Lost in Blue does not feature much music, and rightly so, seeing as that the game takes place on a deserted island. However, the game makes up for the lack of BGM with wonderful and realistic sound effects. From climbing ledges, to fishing in the river, all the incorporated sounds come together to make you feel like you are in the game itself.
Lost in Blue is all about survival. What you catch one day may affect the next. Basically, food and water are necessities. Refurbishing your home is also rewarding. However, the daily routine of every day can get quite redundant, unless you keep going farther into the island.
Some people complain that Nintendo DS games are too short. Lost in Blue is definitely not one of them. It is almost impossible to beat this game in less than a week without cheating or playing non-stop. This game may take varying amounts of time to beat, but for everyone, it will take a long time.
I would have to say that this game is well worth getting. The intuitive controls and in-depth gameplay make Lost in Blue a definite must. Though the game may be challenging, that is the concept in all games. Discovering the mysteries of the island make the game feel more rewarding and interesting overall.
