Loopmancer is a 3D platformer roguelite action game with realistic graphics that takes place in a cyberpunk universe. You play as Xiang Zixu, a detective who comes back to life after being killed unexpectedly while investigating the disappearance of a famous female journalist. Immediately after his death, he wakes up with a start in his apartment bedroom. Before he can process what happened, his phone rings and his colleague at the agency tells him of a new case: the disappearance of a famous female journalist.

Earn Cores

In Loopmancer each time you successfully clear a location by talking to the Superintendent, from boss fights, or from completing selected Challenges in stages you will be rewarded a core, which you can then use to unlock new skills or credits for new equipment.

Best Skills to Unlock First

The best skills to unlock first in Loopmancer are those that ensure that detective Xiang Zixu will have increased survivability and retain credits after dying. Consider unlocking Better Safe Than Sorry which will increase the number of HP Soda that you can carry. You may also want to consider unlocking the Deflect skill which gives you the ability to both deflect and stun melee and ranged attacks.

Free Items

While you are at ChangXu Detective Office you can refresh Dave Ray's inventory of 3 free items by quitting and continuing. Any item you pick will be stored in your inventory and will replace one of your existing items when you load back in with 'Continue'. Doing this can help smoothen your loadout if you have unlocked some decent items. Keep in mind you only retain your inventory if you clear a loop successfully and get one of the endings.
