Little Nightmares is a puzzle platformer and survival game that takes place in a 2.5D world. Playing the role of Six you have to solve puzzles along the way to move forward with the narrative. The tips below will help you get past the platformer elements blocked by puzzles.

• Escape Enemies by Jumping

  When you are being pursued by an enemy and need to escape you can make Six run faster by having her jump while she sprints. Doing this more than three or four times though will tire her out and she will slow down significantly so this trick must be used with caution when evading enemies that are giving chase.

• Hunger Pangs are Normal

  Six will kneel over and hold her stomach at certain points during the game. This is to indicate she is hungry and you need to obtain food for her. The hunger pangs will slow down Six considerably and she will die if she is not fed in time. This means you must act quickly, if you keep going you will eventually come across food, you will either find it or it will be given to you.

• Complete Light Detector Puzzles

  In Little Nightmares, you will encounter numerous light detector puzzles where Six must hide behind objects to avoid the light. If she is caught in the light, she will be turned to stone and die. The trick to bypass these puzzles undetected is to head to the very back of the room so you can walk along the wall to which the light is attached until you get to the other side.

• Give Nomes a Hug

  The Nomes are collectibles in Little Nightmares that you can acquire during your play through to unlock the Little Lost Things achievement/trophy. There are 13 Nomes in total and they will require chasing after to collect.

  When you find a Nome it will run away from Six, simply follow it for a short time and you will find it standing still. If you then grab the Nome and hug it a short tune will play to indicate you have collected it.

• Break Statues

  The statues of Geishas are another collectible in Little Nightmares that are hidden throughout the game. These can be tricky to find but once you find all 10 of them you will unlock the Rascal achievement. Upon finding a statue you need to pick it up and throw it so it breaks. Black smoke will emerge from the shattered statue to indicate you have collected it.

• Light Lanterns and Candles

Make sure you take advantage of it to illuminate dark places when you move through the game and also to find secret rooms and collectibles.

• Be as Stealth as Possible

  Little Nightmares is a survival game filled with horror elements that have inhabitants of various types who can kill Six if she is caught. The best strategy to stay alive is to be as stealthy and as quiet as possible, especially when you explore dark places.

• Be Aware of Hiding Spots

  As you progress through the game you must be aware of potential hiding spots Six can use if you are chased by an enemy intent on killing her. Keep in mind you cannot avoid your pursuer by just running, you need to hide in a spot that they cannot find otherwise they will eventually catch you.
