Wooing the Hostesses

Seeking the companionship of hostesses is part of the recurring mini-games of the Yakuza series with different iterations. Spending time with hostesses isn't cheap either. You have to spend money every time you see them and to maximize their affection with you, you'll have to go through several visits.

Each session has three segments:

  1. Table Talk - A conversation with three possible answers. The amount of affection you'll earn at this point will depend on the quality of the answer you choose (Perfect, Good, Bad).
  2. Buying their favorite drink - Each hostess has their own preferred type of drink. Getting the one they prefer will give you a huge affection boost
  3. Closing interaction - In this section, you'll have a last chance to choose one of the two interactions available which can also result in a Perfect, Good, or Bad result.

Aside from these active actions, you can also purchase items that will increase your chances of impressing and eventually, romancing the hostesses by taking them for an after-hours date. The first one is wearing a Perfume before starting a session with the hostess you want and the second is keeping some gifts with you.

Mini-4WD Racing

Pocket Circuit returns in the game and offers you the same exciting concept of assembling and customizing your own pocket racer to compete in different race modes. When assembling your pocket racer, you have to pay attention to the six stats as listed below:

  • Speed: Determines your car's maximum speed
  • Acceleration: Determines how quickly your car reaches maximum speed. Also affects how your car recovers speed around tight corners.
  • Balance: Determines how the car can stay in the track. Lower values means that your car can easily fly out of the track especially during jumps or loops.
  • Cornering: Determines how effective your car is when tackling corners. The higher value of this stat, the better your car will tackle tight corners without flying out of the track.
  • Grip: Determines the traction of your wheels. You may need a higher value of this stat when trying to tackle tracks with patches of grass.
  • Downforce: This will make your car more stable and grippy to the track because of the downwards force of the headwind, as controlled by your car's suspensions and front wings. There are advanced technical tracks that will need this particular stat to tackle.

There are other two considerations that you have to be aware of:

  1. Weight: This determines your car's overall weight based on the parts you have added to it.
  2. Total Cost: Each part has a cost value and their total will be counted towards the aptly named "Total Cost". Some tracks have a cost limit so in order to participate in them, you have to adjust your parts accordingly to meet the maximum cost allowed.

Locating Briefcases

Briefcases contain random items and are scattered both in Sotenbori and Isezaki Ijincho. They can respawn shortly over time, especially after leaving the area and while doing other objectives. The possible items you can get range from basic food items, recovery medicine, and to the more valuable Gold or Platinum Plates that you can sell for a lot of cash. So whenever you find a briefcase, don't forget to loot it; you'll never know what to get.

Use environmental objects and dropped weapons in combat

During fights and depending on the battle area, you can look out for various objects and environmental items that you can use as improvised weapons. For example, while fighting in the streets, you can pick up signs, vehicles, and construction cones and smash enemies with them while when fighting indoors, you can use various furniture and items instead. You can also disarm opponents and use their weapons against them. Improvised weapons usually deal more damage for free.

Akame Network

In Chapter 2, you'll be able to unlock the Akame Network as part of the main story. This side content will allow you to complete various challenges and objectives to earn points which in turn, you can use to exchange for a large variety of valuable items. You can talk to Akame to access this feature's various options and you can also check your progress by opening the Pause menu.

Initially, you'll have the Support Map available, which will allow you to take on Stroll n' Patrol missions around Sotenbori. You also have the option to Invest on the Akame Network, which will help unlock the Akame Shop. You can further invest additional money to increase the Akame Shop level (which will make additional items become available) as well as activate various buffs such as boosts in earning Akame Points, enabling upgrade discounts, and increasing enemy drop rates. The items sold in the Akame Shop also come in limited amounts so you can't really use your points entirely on recovery items for example.

Coliseum Fighting Tips

Here are some tips for fighting in the coliseum.

Joryu is the best all-rounder fighter. If you want to take a match seriously, consider using him.

Try to enter the match with Full Heat. That way, you can essentially use Heat Actions immediately to soften up enemies and finish them off, saving precious time.

The timer is paused during heat actions so try to use them often to deliver free damage.

Heat actions can be used to get you out of trouble (if you're in the right position). If the conditions are met, you can activate a heat action during an enemy's attack animation.

The Extreme Heat Light Attack combo of Agent Style is great for crowd control.

To break the guards of strong enemies, switch to Yakuza Style and use Charge attacks.
