These are the extra missions you encounter by speaking to the citizens of Nova Chrysallia, and completing them is among the very few ways for players to power up Lightning, as she no longer gains any experience from regular battles. These quests usually require players to complete a segment of the main quest for the particular location, before they become available.
Side Quest 01 - Saving an Angel
Speak to Dr. Gysahl upon returning to the farm after defeating the Chocobo Eater to start this quest. Lightning needs to feed the chocobo until it recovers enough for her to ride. First, talk to Serala for the last piece of Gysahl Green, the Hunter Chief has some Chocobull. Complete the side quest The Right Stuff for the Mystical Meal, and finally visit the Jagd village in the Jagd Woods and talk to Cardesia so she can mix another bottle of Chocobull. You can find Chocoborels (orange mushrooms) growing in the Jagd Woods while Slug Sweets are dropped by the Rafflesia monster. Give 8 of each item to Cardesia. Finally, feed all of these to the chocobo to complete the quest.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-1.
Rewards - 1200 Gil, White Chocobo Chick, Max HP+80, STR+8, MAG+8.
Side Quest 02 - A Father's Request
Serala is the girl with glasses and she asks that you find her father in the forest. Go to Jagd Woods and explore until you find the Wandering Man deep in the forest. He will then tell you to bring him some Forest Fertilizers. The locations of the fertilizers (5 total) will be marked with a shovel. Stomp through the area again until you find them. Note that while the man only needs one, try to find all five to be used for your own gysahl greens patches back at the farm. Deliver the message to Serala.
Timeline - Must initiated Saving an Angel, 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Rewards - 800 Gil, Girlish Glasses, Max HP+80, STR+4, MAG+8.
Side Quest 03 - The Right Stuff
The Hunter Hopeful is seen riding a chocobo at the entrance to Jagd Woods. Simply harvest 6 Vibrant Ooze from Miniflans which are more than plentiful in the Grasslands. Give him the items.
Nadia is standing next to a chocobo in Jagd Village. Take your chocobo to graze on Yeul Flowers in the Ruined City once he's better then take him to Nadia.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-1, 6 AM to 10 PM.
Rewards - 300 Gil, Golden Flower, Chocobo Chick, Max HP+80, MAG+6.
Side Quest 05 - A Final Cure
Cardesia runs the apothecary in Jagd Village and she gives you this side quest after successfully brewing a Chocobull. For this concoction she needs: 4 Chocoborel (Jagd Woods 6 AM to 6 PM); Luminous Mushroom (Jagd Woods 6 PM to 6 AM); Crimm Mushroom (Moogle Village, northern edge of the Rocky Crag). Take all the stuff to Cardesia so she can make the medicine.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-1. 8 AM to 10 PM.
Breila is just outside the train station and she needs Lightning to find her dog somehow. To complete this one, you must first finish Dog Doctor and Assistant. Chat with Tilda before returning to Breila.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-1, 6 AM to 10 PM.
Rewards - 1200 Gil, Leopard Tail, Max HP+80, STR+6, MAG+4.
Side Quest 07 - The Hunter's Challenge
In addition to the requirements in the timeline, you must also complete the quest The Right Stuff for this one to appear. For his first test, simply bring him 3 Monster Mince which are dropped by Valis. Once Lightning is deemed capable, he will ask you slay an Aster Protoflorian, a boss that Lightning and Hope faced in Gapra Whitewood in Final Fantasy XIII. And if you've played that, this battle should be familiar to you since it pretty much behaves the exact same way. Create a schema that has all three primary elements - Fire, Ice and Thunder. A garb with Dispel (like White Mage is a definite plus. Stick Deprotect and Deshell then cast magic opposite of the monster's current element, as indicated by its Exoproofing ability until it staggers. Use your best spells and attacks on it.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-1, 8 PM to 5 AM.

Side Quest 08 - Peace and Quiet, Kupo
In the Moogle Village, speak to the two moogles tending to the earth patch. This will lead to an event that eventually triggers this quest. Just defeat all the Dryads and report back to the moogles. Mog arrives but runs off after seeing Lightning. Chase Mog and talk to him.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-1, 7 PM to 7 AM.
In the Moogle Village, speak to Moggel and he'll tell you that 3 of his friends are lost in the forest. Obviously, it's up to Lightning to find them and send them home. Note that this quest can only be done at night and must be cleared before sunrise. Moglin is at the south end of the locked "gate" west of the large clearing to the left of Jagd Village; Mogtha is in Jagd Village, at the north end; Moglen is at the path near the entrance to the woods from the Grasslands.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-1, 7 PM to 7 AM.
You'll find Dr. Gysahl's assistant Claudia (Thirteen) in the Emerite Plains Research Camp, and she'll ask you to bring the ingredients to make some medicine for Breilla's dog, Clove. She needs 4 Dayring Blossome, 2 Moonsoul Blooms and 5 and Goopy Goos. Dayring Blossoms grow all over the Grasslands during the day while Moonsoul grow on the same area at night. Goopy Goos are dropped by Triffids. Give Tilda the items so she makes the Animal Potion. Return to Canopus Farms and talk to Thirteen to complete this quest.
This quest takes quite a bit of patience to start and finish. The client is the Stubborn Old Man at the Research Camp. Apart from the timeline, you must also clear A Father's Request so you can harvest your own Gysahl Greens. Now plant some seeds in the two patches in front of the old man and let 12 hours pass so the seeds can grow. Once that happens, speak to the old man again and give him your Gysahl Greens to put this one to rest,
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-1.

Side Quest 12 - Omega Point
Once your chocobo is fully healed, talk to to the leader at the Research Camp to receive the Data Recorder. Use this on the following locations: On the pillar northwest of the camp; northwest and northeast corners of the Emerite Plains; the elevated land to the west and south of Emerite Plains.
You must complete both Round 'Em Up and Dog, Doctor and Assistant to start this quest. Your client for this is Tilda at the Research Camp. She needs 4 Moonsoul Blooms, 2 Rocky Crag Moles and 5 and Green Leather. Moonsoul Blooms grow all over the Grasslands at night, Rocky Crag Moles are found at the Rocky Crag and Green Leathers are dropped by Goblins. Give Tilda the items and go to Aryas Village and speak to the man at the sheep pen.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-2.

Side Quest 14 - Fuzzy Search
The client Dr. Sheep is in the Aryas Village which is found in the Aryas Climb. All you need to do here is use your weapon to steer the 3 escaped sheep back into their pen.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-1, 6 AM to 6 PM.
The client Millie is in the Aryas Village which is found in the Aryas Climb. This quest only unlocks after you've cleared Fuzzy Search. And just like that one, the sheep have escaped again and they've managed to travel farther this time, but fortunately you also have a chocobo. Have him peck the sheep so they get moving and lead them back to their pens again.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-1, 6 AM to 6 PM.
Rewards - 1200 Gil, Cowboy Hat, Max HP+80, STR+8, MAG+6.
Side Quest 16 - Land of Our Forebears
The client for this one is Cole and you must complete The Old Man and the Field first to do this.Walk up to Chef Aryas in Aryas Village and this event starts automatically. Now go talk to the Stubborn Old Man at the Research Camp, then head Canopus Farms to chat with Serala before finally returning to the chef in Aryas Village to complete this side quest.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-2, 9 AM to 10 PM.
Rewards - 3500 Gil, Pink-rimmed Glasses, Max HP+150, STR+12, MAG+10.
Side Quest 17 - A Taste of the Past
Chef Aryas of Aryas Village needs your help in gathering the ingredients for his recipe. Vibrant Ooze are from Minflans, Moonsoul Blooms grow on the Grasslands at night, Rocky Crag Moles are seen on the Rocky Crag, and the Aryas Apples are found on the elevated sections to the east and west of Aryas Village. Your chocobo needs to be in perfect health so he can glide to reach the apple trees.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-2, 9 AM to 10 PM.
You'll need to complete Round 'Em Up first to unlock this. The client Cornelia is in Aryas Village and she wants you to shadow the sheep to their nest on the Aryas Hill Ruins. Follow the sheep and kill any monsters that appear until the flock stops and the area is clear. Lightning finds a Mystery Egg and Cornelia ends up keeping it, and with that, this side quest ends.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-2, 6 PM to 6 AM.
Rewards - 3200 Gil, Cool Glasses, Max HP+120, STR+10, MAG+12.
Side Quest 19 - Mercy of a Goddess
Apart from the timeline, you must also complete A Final Cure to unlock this quest. You'll find Taleb lying on the ground in Poltae. Speak to him then Cardesia and hear her side of things. Now take her cure and rush back to Taleb in 45 minutes (that's in-game time, which would be 45 seconds in reality). Use Chronostasis to freeze the clock and ride back to Poltae to hand Taleb the concoction.

Side Quest 20 - Killing Time
This quest is automatically triggered once you try to go to the temple in Poltae after your chocobo is fully recovered. Just cross the from one platform to the next until you reach the temple's entrance.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-2.
Rewards - 100 Gil, White Chocobo Figurine, Max HP+30, MAG+3.
Side Quest 21 - Grail of Valhalla
Professor Lotham is seen next to a chocobo in Poltae. While this quest can be initiated as soon as you get to ride a chocobo, you won't be able to complete it until your steed regains its ability to glide. You must retrieve both Chaos and Goddess Glyphs in the temple then talk to Lotham and decipher the 4 lithographis in Poltae. There is one at ground level and the rest are on the platforms that the Chocobo has to glide on to reach the temple.
Timeline - After completing Main Quest 3-2.
Rewards - 3800 Gil, Sacred Knight Garb, Crest of Etro, Max HP+150, STR+10, MAG+16.
Side Quest 22 - To Live in Chaos
Head to the Wild Lands Station and you'll witness some passengers talking, then Hope calls to to tell you that Canopus Farms is drowning in chaos. Rush over there and enter the chaos zone to do battle with a powered-up Chocobo Eater. Try to score a Great preemptive strike on it to make things easier as this creature has 575,000 and the Regen effect will complicate things. Other than that, its still the same monster so spam wind magic until it staggers then pour on the physical strikes while Deprotect is stuck. Debrave will also help in lowering it's strength somewhat.
