Legends of Runeterra Deck Building Guide

In Legends of Runeterra there are 6 major regions: Demacia, Noxus, Freljord, Piltover and Zaun, Ionia, and the Shadow Isles. Each region has its own champions which you can choose and then build your deck around their abilities. Check out our Deck Building Guide to get help putting together your deck.

At the start of the game you will not understand how each champion works so it is advised that you first try different champions to learn about their unique strategies so you can find out which one best suits your play stlye before you start finalising your build. Once you have decided on a champion you need to learn their different combos and synergies so you can build the perfect deck around them.

Don't waste Mana Crystals during the early stages of the game filling up your deck with low-cost cards. It is more beneficial to store your Mana Crystals for your game-winning cards in later rounds and for spell attacks which can instantly swing a fight in your favour. Make sure you level up your cards, particularly your champion cards so you increase your win percentage. It is advised that during the early stages of a match you keep your champions cards out of the battlefield and only use them when there is an opportunity to meet their level up requirements.

You can get more cards in Legends of Runeterra by using shards or wildcards to craft any card within the Collection tab. Every card has a value based on its rarity, the four types of rarities (in order of shard cost) are Common, Rare, Epic, and Champion. Each Region in has the same amount of cards.

• 25 Commons (100 shards to craft)

• 18 Rares (300 shards to craft)

• 6 Epics (1,200 shards to craft)

• 4 Champions (3,000 shards to craft)

Total = 53 cards per region

As well as shards, coins, and wildcards you can also naturally collect cards in Legends of Runeterra by earning XP through region progression. A good way to earn more XP is to complete the Daily Quests. All the XP you earn goes towards your Weekly Vault which are composed of 3 chests full of random cards , jokers and fragments. The rarity of these chests ranges from bronze, iron, silver, gold, platinum or diamond. The level of rarity you get depends on how many times you play a week, the more you play the better rewards you get.
