Set in a modern day survival-horror universe, the co-operative gameplay of Left 4 dead casts four �Survivors� in an epic struggle against hordes of swarming zombies and terrifying �Boss Infected� mutants. The Survivor Co-op Game Mode is played out across four sprawling campaigns, set in urban and rural environments. Each campaign has an over-riding team objective, and is comprised of five large maps. The campaigns link together to tell the story of the Survivor�s escape to safety. The team of four Survivors may be comprised of 1 to 4 human players, allowing for single player and multiplayer co-op games.

Graphics

The game has really amazing graphics. It's a bit better than Half- Life 2 though. Some awesome stuff would be the following:

When your character uses the pistol and another character looks at you, you can actually see the character pick the gun up from his or her "gun slot". The finger movements are really smooth.

Everything is really detailed. None of those Graphic errors where a gun goes through a wall or glitches.

The zombies are very detailed also. You can see the weird patterns on their skin, you can see the rips in clothing, you can even see the insides of the neck when you shoot a zombie's head off.

The environment is just awesome. Very detailed buildings, damages and hazards. The fires look really realistic and the sky is really beautiful--zombie like.

Fonts and text are not pixelated. Everything is really smooth and beautiful.

Sound

Left 4 Dead has really great sounds. The zombies screaming can be heard, ranging from sifter to louder, being farther to closer respectively. The gun shots are really realistic and the walking or running are really very realistic. You can differentiate the sounds of running on the pavement, running on the grass and running in water. You can even heard explosions that sound like they're in real life. You can hear characters scream "GET AWAY!" or "Hold on, I'm healing!" It's like you're actually in- game.

Gameplay

The gameplay for Left 4 dead is really fun. You'll be fighting "Fast- paced" zombies like in 28 Days later. Basically, you're stuck in a city and you need to get to the evacuation point. The game has altogether four levels. This game can be played by single player and have three Artificial Intelligence (AI, Computer, bot) allies that will help you throughout the game.Sometime they get in the way which is annoying, so I always prefer to play it with my friends over LAN (local area connection) or via Steam. You find guns throughout the level. Hordes of zombies will always push you to the edge. You'll sometimes run low on health, making you panic a bit and fight better, or run low on ammo which will force you to use your handgun (which can be dual wielded once you find a second one) which has unlimited ammunition but is not as effective as the Shotgun, Uzi or M16.

Lastability

The game has really poor lastability, but the sheer difficulty of the game will keep you playing over and over again until you reach your goal. Having only four levels, once you finish the game, you'll probably get bored with it. A thing that I do to keep this game from not being boring is playing the game first however I want. The next time will be like handguns only, or grenades only to keep me addicted. But that's it. It gets boring if you really keep playing it everyday.

Overall

All in all, this game would've gotten a 10/109 if it were not for the game's bad lastability, but still A great game whatsoever. This game will keep you trying to finish it. This game will always push your skills to the limit. The sound will keep you focused, the gameplay will really make you enjoy the game a lot, the awesome graphics will really make you enjoy the thrill of spotting a zombie in the distance. I really do recommend you to buy this game as it will be every penny well spent on hours of fun with your friends. Now go to your nearest game retailer and get your game. Now.
