Runes

Runes are artifacts that provide a small boost of stats to the champion and are thus considered enhancements. They can boost Attack Damage, Ability Power, Armor Penetration, Magic Penetration, etc.
They can be bought using Influence Points and their prices vary between 205 IP - 2050 IP for tier 3 runes.

There are 4 types of runes, Marks, Seals, Glyphs, and Quintessences. Marks are primarily Offensive and boost armor penetration for example. Seals are primarily used for defense, or utility, and feature runes that boost armor, and mana regeneration for example.

Glyphs are primarily magical, and are used to boost Ability Power or mana for example.

Quintessences are primarily used for utility but there are also offensive and defensive quintessences. Quintessences are the most expensive of the runes and feature boosts such as movement speed boosts and life steal boosts.
