Make your army as formidable as possible by continually assessing your units when they are fighting and either replacing or uprgrading any that are weak. Remember that you can have units in reserve and can switch them out when you need to have a change in formation.

The best time to upgrade your soldiers is when you pick the game up after a break and you have earnt cash while you were away.

When attacking a turret or some other structure keep an eye out for enemy infantry and change your focus to them when they come into view as they can do a lot of damage if they are not dealt with.
