Will Characteristic Guide

"Will" with an "UPPER-CASE W" mean the character's morale point (Will point).
Not a normal "will" word like 'I will do my job,...etc'

If anyone find error in my guide, I would gladly receive any corrections.
And will give credit to that one.

I am not include the enemies' Will characteristic. My guide was created for
the understanding of the player side's playing techniques only.

[Information About Will]
'Will' is the most important element in this game. It affects everything.
And 1 point of Will influences 1% of almost every pilot's stats.

We can say that Will point is the percentage number of a character's potential
at a current time.
A character with 100 Will will operates at his/her 100% pilot strength.
So, a character with 50 Will will only operates at HALF of his/her strength.
While a character with 200 Will will operates TWO TIMES of his/her strength.

So, a 150% Will character would fight at 150% attack damage, 150% defence,
150% hit rate, 150% dodge rate...etc

Then a simple calculation would be something like this.
100-Will-Hero's status : attack 200 defence 100
150-Will-Hero's status : attack 300 defence 150 (150% of above hero)
100-Will-Hero attacks 150-Will-Hero : Deals 50 points of damage...
150-Will-Hero attacks 100-Will-Hero : Deals 200 points of damage!!!

If the pilot's base stats is already strong, then with high Will points,
He/She will becomes tremendously very further stronger!
This explain why an OUTBURST character will be very much stronger.


: Will range :
Normal character's Will range = 50-180
Minimum normal character's Will = 50
Maximum normal character's Will = 180

Outburst character's Will range = 150-300
Minimum outburst character's Will = 150
Maximum outburst character's Will = 300

: EXTRAORDINARY Will's characteristic :
Ascard - Rider of Legnus - the Doom
Normal Ascard = always at 150
Outburst Ascard = always at 200

[Minor Outburst]
Minor Outburst is triggered by his/her own decision. Consciously.
Minor Outburst is a sudden moment one character decides to engages in serious
confrontation with the enemies. He/She stirs up the elemental wave and
syncronizes his/her strong emotion with the elemental wave. Driving it flow.
He/She is not lost control of the emotion and still conscious.

Technically, A Minor Outburst gives +30 to Will points. Automatically boosts
up a character potential by 30% and unlocks all of the ultimate weapons in
his/her GEAR which require Will to operate.

Minor Outburst often occurs in the boss-fight stages. And will occurs sometime
along the narration of this game.

[OUTBURST]
Real OUTBURST is NOT triggered by his/her own decision. When his/her inner
emotion goes beyond control, creating the torrent of elemental wave,
then with his/her high elemental talent, his/her emotion automatically
syncronizes with the torrent and create the tidal wave of limitless power of
the elemental, becoming the ultimate power wielding berserker without thought.
Often happens in a situation that really impact the deepest of host's emotion.
All of this is beyond control of the host. He/She becomes unconscious.
Disabling every speaking dialogues.
But there is some exceptions only for the Chosen One's outburst.

Technically, an outbursted character is the one who operates his/her stats
potential at the 2-3 times higher than his/her base stats, depend on how many
Will points rise up by the outburst moment.

When a character goes outburst there will be 50-120-130 Will points boosting,
different in each character. An already strong enemy will only be boosted by
50 Will points so that the game will not goes into the impossible fight.

An outburst character's Will will NEVER goes below 150.
So they can HEAL themselves UNLIMITED times and still have 150 Will points
left to fight at 150% potential!
Fortunately, only few characters will do that unlimited healing.

First, be glad that you will have a chance to use a very strong pilot in
outburst mode. Feel the tremendously over-powered experience as this is the
introduction for the player to know about OUTBURST.

Then, you will have the chances to fight OUTBURST enemies. The game arranges
the outbursted enemies for you. Begin from the weakest outburst character to
the strongest.
Bewarned that the strongest pilot in outburst mode will NOT be on your side.
But good news is that you don't HAVE TO fight him. You just have the CHANCE to
challenge him if you really want challenging battle.

[Will Characteristic]
With good understanding of Will Characterstic for each character. You can grow
up their Will points really effective and create the OUTBURST-LIKE army.
I mean boosting your army's Will up to around 150-180 points.

Maintaining a character's Will will give you the upper hand against enemy.
Knowing when to stock up Will or when to burst Will out into fighting strength
is the very key to victory in the battle against strong enemies.

Remember that all strength boosting abilities in this game consume Will points
but give very empowered fighting result in a fight. So, basically, you need
some very strong empowering for some essecntial fights (NOT EVERY fights).
And those Will consuming fights will make your hero's overall strength drops
after the fight. Management of Will point is necessary.

For this guide. I will let you know how an situation affect character's Will.
Each character has his/her own characteristic. Learn to master a character
will yield much better performance.

[Luke Braferd]
Character             :	Luke Braferd - The Dragon
Will Growth Rate      :	A
Will Growth Stability :	S

== Characteristic Description ==
The Dragon is the fearless warrior of Wefrad. The Proud Wefradion knight who
confident in his blade. He is fearsome and he is fearless.

Luke's morale will rise in almost any situations.

Even when an ally falls down, it will just become
 his couragment and his rage
to make his revenge.

Major Encouragment  :
 - An Ally is Shot Down.

Major Discouragment :
 - None.

== Will Technique ==
He is one of the best Will characteristic pilot in the game.

(Look like because he is the leading hero of this game)

Just don't let him miss his attack.

Try to use 'Aim' to boost his Hit Rate rather than let him miss.
Don't try to use defensive abilities if not necessary.

He can withstands anything and still growing up his Will.

And he is very strong if you let your teammates to die,
leaving him standing
alone against all Kradions.

== Characteristic Description ==
The Thunderbird is emotional in term of power.
Her inner soul long to destroys enemy force or to show her great attack power.
But when her destroying power failed, or when she was impacted by enemy's
power, she will be discouraged.

Major Encouragment  :

 - Deal Critical Damage.

Major Discouragment :
 - Attack Failed.

== Will Technique ==
Tiana's Will grow slowly and is unstable. A not much good Will Characteristic.
To raise her Will, let she kills and destroys enemies.
Use high critical rate weapons often will also help.
Receiving damage doesn't hurt her Will, so don't waste Will for defesive
abilities if it is not that necessary.
Also DON'T let her attack miss, use 'Aim' to prevent it.

Sarah Pye is too emotional in everything like the movement of the Air,
especially when it is about her speed.
She doesn't like to wait and really hate being hit.

Major Encouragment  :
 - Every pleasant actions.

Major Discouragment :
 - Receive any kind of damage.
 - An Ally is Shot Down.

== Will Technique ==
She is very emotional.
Fortunately, player's brain can easily overcome those unsuccessful actions.
Just try to do successful dodge and attack with the support from 'Aim' and
'Elude' abilities.
Use high critical rate weapon also help much.
Bewarned that she is always a weak attacker no matter how high her Will is.
Pity for her :P

Harvein is the slow and steady Earth shield.
He loves to stand firm in front and proves his worth as shield of the team.
He fear no pains. But he also doesn't like to do a meaningless attack too.

Major Discouragment :

== Will Technique ==
Harvein is really easy to use.
Try to let him stands in front and wait.
Counter every attacks and don't dodge.
His main problem is about his Hit Rate.
Try to use 'Aim' and place him on 'Wilderness' or on 'Rock' to boost up his
Hit Rate via field's elemental boosting bonus.

This belle of the peaceful Wood hates violence.
But I still wonder why she is encouraged by every critical hit..??
Whatever, she like to be the tree of life.
Her healing power is much greater than Sarah.

Major Encouragment  :
 - Heal.
 - Wait.
 - Perfect Guard.
 - All kind of critical hit.

Major Discouragment :
 - An Enemy is Shot Down.
 - An Ally is Shot Down.
 - All kind of violence.

== Will Technique ==
Let she wait wait and wait. Heal heal and heal.
Only evade or defend against enemy's attack.
Do not even try to shoot the enemy.
All of that will just drop her Will down.
But if you are a lucky man, try doing all violences then hope for critical
hit to occurs is also an interesting solution.

== Characteristic Description ==
This Blaze berserker is a fearless battle lover.
He is so proud to count how many he destroys.
Elvin fear no pains. But he's expecting too much from the result of his punch.
So, a failed punch and enemy's over-strength hit really hurt his morale.

Major Encouragment  :
 - Destroy Target.

Major Discouragment :
 - Attack Failed.
 - Receive Critical Damage.

== Will Technique ==
He is a warrior type Will characteristic.
And is really really want to destroy his target.
He fears no damage so don't concern evading.
What is really his problem is a missing strike.
Do not hesitate to use 'Aim' to boost up his
Hit chance because it is better than to get -3 to his Will.
And don't forget to upgrade his Armor and Barrier fast because his GEAR is
quite fragile in the beginning. Too easy to be destroyed in the early.

== Characteristic Description ==
The Beast is too familiar with the scent of battlefield and violences.
Clause Owen is almost not being effected from any situations.
His Will characteristic is almost like a zombie in my opinion.
The only thing that can stir up his instinct is the bloodshed of every GEARs
that be destroyed on the battlefield.

Major Encouragment  :
 - Anyone being Shot Down.

Major Discouragment :
 - None.

== Will Technique ==
I hate trying to raise this beast's Will point.
It is too hard to grow by actions.
There need to be many GEARs on the field being shot down to raise his Will.
Or else he is such a slow, cold-heart zombie which Will almost never rises.
The good thing is... his Will almost never drop too.
Should we glad about that? No. He also doesn't stable enough for rank S.
Try not to use any Will for combat abilities.
Save it for a really important strike.
Try using 'Aim' to prevent missing attack which will give -1 to his Will.

This Blood sacrifice always long to pay his life for the others.
Arvel is only longing to dies for Wefrad.
So there is nothing to drag his morale down except the dead of Wefradians.

Major Encouragment  :
 - Receive any kind of damage.

Major Discouragment :
 - None.

== Will Technique ==
He is one of the best Will characteristic pilot in the game.
His Will NEVER drop!! The most stable Will Characteristic in the game.
I would say his Will Growth Stability Rank as "SS",
but he will not stay to serve you much… That is the real sad!
You will be happy with this super pilot for a couple of stages.
Well, his GEAR isn't that strong anyway. Just leave him.

== Characteristic Description ==
A dueling Sword fighter. Mind of the fencer.
Frederick Braferd will stay sharp and time his strike.
Stay calm and unleash his fearsome sword.
Quite hard to get serious. But when he goes serious, he's the Sword Master.

Major Encouragment  :
 - Wait.
 - Deal Critical Damage.
 - Successful Dodge.

Major Discouragment :
 - Minor Discouragement from all unsuccessful events.
 - No Major Discouragement.

== Will Technique ==
He is quite hard to use at the beginning of every stages. Quite weak.
But get stronger and stronger with more Will.
Wait often and let enemies come to him.
Then dodge-counter them all with 'Elude' and 'Aim' abilities support.
Try using high critical rate weapon will help hasten his Will up too.
His Will will not suddenly drop but also doesn't rise that much fast.
Continuous rising is needed. So, rapid unsuccessful actions is not allowed.

Esteban Sol. This day Dream playboy is just like a civilian.
Prefer fighting only if it is a safety-fight for him.
Being as a sniper, safety-fight killing is what he want.

Major Encouragment  :
 - Destroy Target.

Major Discouragment :
 - Attack Failed.
 - Receive any kind of damage.

== Will Technique ==
He is a good sniper GEAR. So let him fight like a sniper.
Do not miss target and do not be hit from enemy.
But since his dodging chance is low and he is also not prefer taking damage,
fighting from a distance is best for him. Please note that he is also fragile.
Use 'Aim' to aid his Hit Rate. Don't let him miss or it is -2 to his Will.
And just hitting is not enough. His button must destroys the target too.
You must try really hard to get this Playboy's Will rise up.

== Characteristic Description ==
Tys, the Elemental Beauty! Her Will's flowing is limitless.
She is truly an absolute elemental being.
Her Morale drops and rises like the flow of the element.

Major Encouragment  :
 - Every pleasant actions.

Major Discouragment :
 - Every unpleasant actions.

== Will Technique ==
The 'Best' and the 'Worst' Will characteristic within one self.
Either rise to the top or sink to the bottom is depend on your strategy.
First, equip her with 'Divine Blessing', it comes along with her after the
stage you get her GEAR into action.
Second, use 'Aptitude' then kill every severed damage enemies continuously.
Third, use 'Full Force' then throw her into a C+?? field amidst the enemies.
When acquire 'Full Force II', try Perfect Guard too. It boost Will faster.
She is one of the strongest GEAR against everything except Legnus Optimus.

== Characteristic Description ==
Robin Randal is the Elementalist.
Although unstable, his Will flow like the flow of elemental.
He is like a weaker version of Tys' characteristic.
Elemental's Will Characteristic type is very emotional and unstable.

 - Successful Dodge.
 - Deal Critical Damage.
 - Destroy Target.
 - An Enemy is Shot Down.

Major Discouragment :
 - Receive any kind of damage.
 - Receive Critical Damage.
 - Attack Failed.
 - An Ally is Shot Down.

== Will Technique ==
He is a weaker version of Tys. Use the same Tys' technique.
Read Tys' technique for more information.
His technique is different from Tys about Perfect Guard. Robin always prefer
dodging more than a guarding.
If you recruit Wiveather (the Sky), then his Will rise easier.
Else if you recruit Zeeyown (the Gravity), then his Will grow harder,
but Zeeyown is a stronger GEAR. With a less dexterous.

Blaze Duke of the Flame is the more emotional version of Dragon.
A faster rises and faster drops characteristic version.

 - Receive Critical Damage.

== Will Technique ==
The very first thing he need is 'Power' upgrade. To boost up his Hit Rate.
Then after his Hit Rate rise high enough into a decent rate,
He will become another one of the best Will Characteristic character.
But if you don’t take care of his accuracy, then he will become very weak.
Just don't miss. Use 'Aim' and gain +2 rather than miss and get -2 !
If he takes damage, counter with a successful hit to take back Will points.
If his main problem of Hit Rate is taken care of, he'll become hero for you.

== Characteristic Description ==
The Storm is not as cold-heart as she look.
In fact, she is a real belle! Just in a soldier uniform!
(Much more a belle than Sarah and Tiana.. but still less than Evelin)
Millia Aldenhart, Belle of the Tempest doesn't like killing and fighting.

this rank makes Millia very proud of her dexterous which will greatly hurt her
morale whenever she failed to successfully dodge or attack.

== Will Technique ==
My favourite character. She has 'one of the worst' Will Characteristic.
But she got the Will Growth Rate rank of 'A' because of her awesome dexterity.
Which continuously give her +3 and +2 Will points in almost every fight.
No matter what you do, she MUST do successful dodging and/or attacking.
'Aim' and 'Elude' is the life saver for Millia. Always use them.
Too bad that she get NONE Will point from destroying enemies. That's bad.
Dodge-Attack, No-Kill, is the best way to increases her Will.
