Why can't I put a stack of magazines down why

I try to put the stack of magazines down but it won't let me do it.Why?

Earlier I did not know how to place the magazines down, but now I know: You have to go to living room Items, select magazine stack, and place it on a table or a countertop. Good bye and happy gaming!
