Look for a house with more than one story. When connecting two stories one of the options for stairs are the fire pole if the house does not have regular stairs. Visit the house and click on the fire pole and the option "use fire pole" should appear

Find a neighbor with the Tropical Romance Island, which is reached by clicking on the Sea Voyage Boat that is docked north of the larger suspension bridge (not the long bridge to the volcano island). As you explore the island, you'll find a sort of tree house with a hammock up top. To get to the hammock, you'll Notice there is a ladder and a fire pole. Task achieved!

It's in the center of the Tropical Romance Island but only if the player has built it. I have a suspicion that you'll only get this task if one of your neighbours has. The tip worked for me after searching in vain at every multi-floor house, so thanks for this!
