Two of my sims are married but everytime I have them talk the br doesnt increase it's still where it was when they first got married

The married Status Bar will only increase after you have the Sims be rude to each other or complain after various times. Once the married bar is full the option for divorce will appear. The same is for partners after beind rude or complaining alot the choice of break up becomes available.
