That's just the limit that the game creators put on the game. Each couple can only have two kids, that way the place won't get over crowded and so you can add more Sims to each house.
Its a limit put on by the game creators, it helps so that the house wont get over crowded, and you can also have one or two other Sims living in the house.
Another thing that you could do is make another married couple of Sims and then make that baby a toddler when you hav enough lifestyle points and then call over the toddler actual parents and then add a room and you can do that and have as many sims as you want in the house that you choose
PS thats what I did I now have four kids a preteen boy and girl and two toddlers boy and girl
You can't have more than two kids ok. The house size does not let you have any more either I have a two floor mansion I should know!
Okay, here is what I did:
A) got a guy and a girl to get married, two kids.
B) got ANOTHER guy and girl, with the same last name as the previous couple. They had kids.
C) Provide the rooms/bedding necessary in order to call those kids over and have them 24/7. (Meaning this only works for toddlers and up).
E) repeat steps b-c for however long you want. I'm up to 5 kids right now, who have the same last name but just have no blood relationship to the parents whatsoever.
