Yes well you would need to add another room. And did make your Sims at the mansion or did you move em alll in?
Try buying a bigger house.
Get a mansion it's the best house to get I guess
You should expand your house it always says that for me. I have 7 people living in one home that's not a mansion

I have the mansion and have a total of 5 bedrooms, it still will not allow me to move in a 5 th persons. I am married with 3 Children .. Plenty of room. What is the deal?
I have the two story mansion and I am hoping to have a married couple and 4 four or five Children as it is actually now a 3 story mansion so I think that as it came with so many bedrooms lots of people can live there so I'm guessing it's the house size that matters xxxxx
I think that you will have to make a teenage sim move out. Then you can add anouther sim to the home. I also had the same problem, I have two kids and to Adult Sims and wanted to move one of there best friends but it said that you can only have 4 sims or the place would be to crowded. Hopefully this helped, 😀
I'm having this problem too. I have two adults two kids! I try to add another kid and it says remove a sim and I already have 4 bedrooms!!!
I think that expanding the house doesn't work and even the premium residence doesn't work I think you can only have 4 people living in a house at once BUT if you move a teenage sim to it's own house you can have another baby!!! Xxx
Yes I am also having this problem. I have a two-storey house on a premium lot with lots of rooms that I built from scratch and there is a married couple living there with a teen and a preteen. I would like to add two more babies however it says it is "too crowded". I don't get how people have more than 4 people in one house because it will not work for me! I think it must be a glitch or maybe based on levels? I am level 28. Anyway if anyone knows HOW to do it then please give a clear answer; other than that I think it's impossible.
Living in a house (everyone has the same last name) and having 10 people visiting a house are 2 different things. A lot of people are misunderstanding that. Just because you have multiple people staying in rooms doesn't make them part if your family. Also whoever actually lives in a household (has same last name) will get more money & more points by doing actions in their own home. Anyways, I have a three story mansion with 20+ rooms & still can't add anymore Sims to actually live with me (the game says too crowded when trying to adopt or add a third child). The game will only allow four people in one family in one house at a time regardless of the size of the house or level (thus far, I'm on level 32). But until something Changes, I suppose just have people over.
I have one family with five kids but it was complicated to get lol and the don't all officially live in the one house. I had a married couple have two kids then they got divorced he went to a new house then I got her married to another sim and she moved in there but the kids stayed in the original house for some reason so then she had a kid with new husband, divorced him, remarried her original husband and moved into his new house and had two more kids, I just have them all stay in the original house and they all have the same last name except the one kid from the other marriage. It's frustrating that you have to go through all that just to have more then two kids.
I have the three story mansion but it wont let me get a 5th sim and I want 6
Please help
I do know how to let six Sims to LIVE in a same house, same last name of course.
Just make six of 'em be good friends or partner, let 3 of your Sims who currently live in the same house invite the other 3 to move in simultaneously. (Little tip, if you have four sims originally live in a house, you might need to remove one of it out first and so far I had only tested on Adult sim)
You can move the Sims simultaneously by inviting three of the sims come to the house you want them to be in, then click "ask to move in". Before any of them agree to move in (before 6 seconds ended), select another sim and "ask to move in" (before 6 seconds ended too), then select the third one and "ask to move in". Act fast or else it wont work. (Little Tips, try to put some distance between sims so that you can get more than 6 seconds)
Hope my explanation is clear enough.;)
You can only have four people in one household if you need six you would have to use a cheat.
I actually have 7 Sims all living in one house, all with the last surname. I want an 8th but it says it's too crowded. I didn't use any Cheats at all. I just made the 'owner' of the house become good friends with each of them and then ask to move in.
My daughter's town is level 31 and she can only have 4 Sims living together. My town is level 39 and I can have 5. So somewhere between levels 31 and 39, you can add a 5th Sim to a residence. It doesn't have anything to do with the size of the house or how many rooms there are. It doesn't even matter if the lot is a premium one. I have 5 Sims living in a house on a regular lot that isn't even finished and only has 2 bedrooms--one isn't even furnished. She has 4 living in a lot that doesn't even have a house. So a house is not needed to get people to move in with you, far less a huge one. So if you can't have 5 in one residence, you're probably just too low still. Keep leveling.
I don't think there should be a limit. At least not one so low. Many families have more than 2 or 3 kids. If the limit for people on a lot at once is 10 to keep game lag down, then I think families should cap at 10 as well.
Then you don't have the vip, you need some vip points to have 6 Sims to live in your mansion
