Question for The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I'm on level 23 and I have over 1500 coins. I wanna buy santa's little helper but when I press it in the menu, the game quits. I tried deleting the app and reinstalling it but now it says ugh not this screen again! Help! My beloved Springfield characters need jobs ASAP!!

Yeah, it sucks :/ Same things happening to me, even when I try build Buildings.
