Question for The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Whenever I connect the artifacts , it just glows and nothing happens, I haven't advanced at all, what do I do.?

You've got to put them together like a jigsaw puzzle. Keep moving and rotating them til they fit together

You need to place each piece of the artifact into your inventory. When you click to move a piece hit the cardboard box to place in inventory. Once all pieces are in inventory the replace them in the correct places anywhere in your city. The pieces will be become one single piece and the Mayan guy will show up. The answer is "The Zune".
