What is the inventory tab for? How do you add items to it, as well as retrieve items?

The inventory is like a temp storage box. You should be able to put things into storage by clicking on the tab with 4 arrows in the bottom right corner, and when you select an item, it should give you a few icons underneath which include a cardboard box, that's the inventory. You can access all the Items in the box by returning to the main play screen, clicking the 'buy' icon in the bottom right corner and when the icons change, check the opposite bottom corner where you'll see the cardboard box again. Simply click that and it will bring up your inventory. It's very handy when redesigning your towns layout, but can be a lengthy process if youre moving a lot of items back and forth
