How do you get ranked on a show down?

There are sometimes on the show downs a special ranked one where you get ranked and if your in the top 100 or something you get a prize however how do you get ranked? I win the show downs but my rank doesn't change, like at all. It stays at a little line and doesn't go up. How do you get ranked?
