How do you get more food for the animals in the sanctuary

You have to plant a tree in the dirt patch. When you are in the Animal Sanctuary, select the wood hammer in the bottom right corner to open the build menu. Select Smurfs, Farming, and then buy the Feeding Bush. Put it in the dirt patch on the left side of the sanctuary. Then press it to open the Animal Food menu. Buy the food and wait. Once you have food, touch your critters to feed them.
After feeding my animals in the animal sanctuary, it would not let me get more food from the tree, so I then decorated and added various bushes and flowers hoping this would help but I still couldn’t plant anymore food to feed my animals and get them to a higher level.
