For you to get Diamonds in MineCraft: Pocket Edition v. Alpha 0.6.1 you should try the seed: jpgaming Then dig down to the lowest Bedrock level and then build up eight blocks dig arounds and there should be diamonds.

Without seeds just make a mine I've foun 100s usually find lowest bedrock and check 5-12 levels up good luck

You need to be at the levels of 1-16 underground...
You need a iron/gold pickaxe to mine this so be prepared...
You will need lots of food and maybe an underground shelter with a bed, a chest, a Crafting table and a furnace.
