This may be a dumb question, but does anyone know the significance of the pictures in the Kempy Bass cave - the military portrait and the picture of the guy with a befuddled look on his face?

In the credits one of the staff is named "Kempy" so maybe Kempy is in charge or something
I bet his family or another guy that helped and I saw two kempys in the credits could be his brother
