You need to bribe Dan with some tickets found in the purple coat in the cloakroom. To get the coat you need to turn Edgar into Vulcan Flash - a pair of goggles from the pumpkin in the hall, some blue pigment from the storeroom (entrance at the back left of the hall) and... Something else (it's been a while since I did this)... Perhaps a jacket from the storeroom also?
