Stage 4 Level 1 ... I'm missing some friends and I don't know how to find them. The whole level seems empty. I'm getting 100% on all the other things so it's not that I haven't killed the enemies

Stage 4 Level 1 has quite a few puzzles in it. If you mean the beginning of the level, don't forget to find those invisible grabber fish that are hard to see. There are quite a few of them in the first part. I managed to find 15 friends to take to safety. After that, it's a series of puzzles that you have to solve. If you do them correctly, some more friends are released that will get you through the next houses. SPOILER: the first pattern is: middle right, top left, top middle and bottom middle. Then it's a map and finally a maze of bubbles...go carefullly.

I think you can never complete this level with all of them...? If you don't collect the friends in the first pattern puzzle, you'll have 22/28 friends.
I freed the ones in the first pattern puzzle (+8 friends) and my total is 30/36. I don't even know where the missing 6 are.
While this may not be directly answering the question...
There are 15 friends before the first checkpoint. The base will open after you get 1 so it doesn't matter how many you have before you save. Get the first 3 friends and hit all the chompers (but not collecting them) before saving. After saving, take the friends you left and free the rest (so 12+3 now).
Don't do the first pattern puzzle yet. Go in the circle/shield mode and hit all the other wrong pattern choices (+8 friends). After you complete the puzzle you'll have 2 more.
And seeing the latest comment on 11 Sept saying they got 64/64 enemies... I only got 32/32? And while they have total 194 coins my total is only 188? :0
I still wonder if the missing 6 even exist with all these inconsistencies :/
Ok I finally got 5 stars on This one don't kill all the guys on the first pattern just do it for the two friends do it Straight out. Do all the puzzles kill all the enemies especially the invisible Grabber ones you would get 22 out of 22 friends and kill all the bad guys or 23 out if 23 what ever one it is trust me it actually worked.
