The heart sign means they love your store.
The broken heart means they don't like your store.
The clock above their head means that there's isn't enough room for them to walk or look at different items.
The mirror means you need more mirrors. The mirrors that you put on the walls don't count. The only mirrors they can use are the ones that stand up.
And the dressing room icon above their head means you need more dressing rooms.

I'll help you cuz your answer isn't right...
So the heart:they were able to buy what they wanted and they're happy
Broken heart:all dressing rooms are being used they dont have enough money or they dont like the items being displayed
Mirror:they want to go to a mirror but then if it turns to a broken heart it means the mirrors are unavailable(being blocked) or they are being used
Dressing room: they want to go to one and try on clothes
Clock: they need to know what time it is and if it's to busy or they don't have enough time

The clock one is wrong, they can't tell time

Heart means that the customer is satisfied with the store.
Broken heart means that they are not satisfied with the store. It could be that there are not enough dressing rooms or mirrors.
Mirror means that they want to go to a mirror, so they willif one is available. If one is not available, they will have a broken heart and leave. This is the same for dressing rooms too.
Hope this helps! I was confused too, but I think I got it (:

HEART.... Means made purchase and is a satisfied customer.
BROKEN HEART.... Unhappy bcuz they cannot get into a dressing room, look in a mirror or get to an open cash register.
MIRROR.... They want to look into a mirror, but cannot bcuz one is it available, or it is blocked.... WALL MIRRORS DO WORK, they just cannot be blocked.
DRESSING ROOM... They need a dressing room but none are available.
CLOCK.... They are waiting to use a mirror, dressing room, cash register, or to enter the store, but time is running out, they will leave unhappy.

They can be blocked, sure, but the shoppers won't go to the wall mirrors, no matter what.

Mirrors on the wall can be used. My store has them and they work.

Ok, so I looked at everyone's answer to the question "Why do I keep getting broken hearts in my Fashion Story game?" I then went back to my game and paid very close attention to when these broken hearts are actually showing up. They appear after a dressing room or after they have looked in a mirror. With that in mind, I bought several cash registers and I have not seen a broken heart since. I love this game and hope this solution helps others. <3

You have the cash register blocked so the lady can't stand behind it ? Or a mirror on the wall has something in front or underneath it maybe. Even f you have a stool too close to the dressing rooms it will show broken hearts too.

Heart means this: the customers love your stores and want to come back and they also bought something at you're store

Broken hearts mean: that you don't have a good selection and they don't buy anything

Mirrors mean: that they want to Look at themselves in the mirror and see how they look

Dressing room means: they want to try something on
