My clothes always seem to sell faster than I can replace them. So my racks are usually empty. When I visit other stores they are always full of clothes.

You can put an object in front of the door to block it and so no customer can come in, also buy clothing that takes longer to come which will last longer on the rack
I put something blocking the door . Which was cool I had my whole store stocked by the thousands lol and over night every single table and rack was empty !! I mean good money but gah I'm scared to move the object from the door . Before when I didn't block the door i'd at least have stuff to work with in the morning. O well
Love
Missmarie07 you guys can add me if you'd like
I too had this problem. Before you stop playing for the day/night block you're doorway. This causes the shop to be closed. So no customer no purchases. This also gives a chance to build you're inventory. I expanded 4 times and my racks are always full. Check me out Beautifulrain28. Is the I'd :-)
Besides blocking the door a good strategy is to buy in bulk. Buy a lot of a single item, so that it takes a lot longer for everything to be sold. I never block my door and since I started buying things in bulk I haven't once not had anything in my store to sell.
I agree to buy items that take longer to order so they last longer. I never block my door, I've never even heard of that. I stock up as much as I have time for during the day. Before bed I order several things that take 6-8 hours. In the morning my shelves are still stocked and I have new inventory to put on them. I only order stuff that takes 30 min or more and I get my inventory over 1000 for items. They last forever and I continue adding so it lasts and lasts.
I don't see a reason for blocking the door. What I do is simply lock the racks I don't want to be emptied, by placing other items around them to block the customers from buying them. Though I also have troubles making a strategy to make my shop always full.
Place an item in fron of the door and then stock up on clothing , get at least 1,000 items per rack if you want em to last;)
I've been doing this ever since I started playing Fashion Story and I started playing in 2010. I hope this helps for you, too. What I do is block the door with an object from my shop. Anything will work including fitting rooms, racks or tables! If you have two or more doors, then you must block both of the doors. If you block one and not the other, people will start coming in from the door you didn't block. I use this technique everyday until all my racks are filled with 1,000 units of clothes. Almost everyone uses this method on Fashion Story and now you will, too. I hope this helps you a lot. It definitely worked out for me.
I had this problem too .. But than I order lots of same things an I have muchover 1000 (:

Why would you block the door when you want to sell items to make money?
The main reason it's hard is because in the beginning you only get so many items with each order, but as you level up the choices cost more but have a larger quantity, sometimes over 1,000 with a single order. Keep playing and it will get easier to stock the store!
I save some space for storage clothes where customers cannot get to them. Then, there is this part of my shop where customers can actually reach the clothes and buy them. I usually have a lot of friends who send me contrast pumps, so I get around 3000 every day (during the day I put them in the storage area) and when I go to sleep, I just put the contrast pumps to sell, usually so that four customers can stand besides it at the same time, and I leave mirrors on walls. Now I am more frustrated over how to get rid of everything without clearing rack.
When you close your store to stock up when you open it you have to wait for cutomer to make a cple purchases before closing it again. That will stop your clothes from emptying so fast.
