I have nearly every player at 100 but players seem to be all over place and are difficult to control. What's best formation as I can't seem to finish any higher than 4th in elite division? Also, what control settings from menu (iPad) would you suggest are best?

That depends on the positions of the players. What are the positions of all your players?
4-3-3 attack:2 attacking midfield and 1 defensive,1 left forward ..1 centre forward and 1 right forward.formation like
Ronaldo /suarez /messi
Coutinho/casemiro/kev (forward and mid line)
The best formation is the 4-3-3 then pepe the central forward then dybala winger right and best winger left
For midfield terrino is central then Beckham leads the attack carrying leornado
It can be of two type one is 3-5-2 which starts with a goal keeper then 3 defenders and then 2 defending middle andar one attacking middle and two WF or you can go by 4-4-3 in which there are 4 defender then 2 WF and 2 midfielders and then 3 centerforward but I will suggest 3-5-2 as sometime in 4-4-3 player don’t reach the position you wanted but 3-5-2 they will come wherever you want
