Can assault troops go through wooded areas?

Can assault troops go through wooded areas?
I fired a flare into the woods during my last assault to see if troops will follow them into the woods. My troops didn't seem to be able to go into the Mangroves. Reason for asking is that I just repositioned my base and put my HQ with it's back to the woods. Can I be attacked from behind this way?

Yes you can attack and go through wooded areas use flares but it is limited to some areas. But it can be done with flares.

Thank you very much for your reply. Do you know what the limitations are? How far into the woods troops can go? I notice that on some islands, some trees are shown as faded out, but others are in full resolution.

I believe that there is infact no limit, however I'm sure you're probable aware of the fact that troops go the most direct way, therefore if there was no reason to go into the woods, unless you use a flare they as a general rule wouldn't go into the woods.If you are still looking for help with this game we have more questions and answers for you to check.
