No you can't :( The only way I get gems is by cooking items over and over again. I think when you get to "level 3" of cooking a certain food/drink, you can 1 gem. Or you can get gems by getting medals.

Actually, you get 1 gem at level 2 and 4 proficiency of a food item. On the issue of getting gems back, I just got a reply from team lava and they refuse to give me back my gems. I expanded my shop with gems instead of coins and even though I clearly had 500,000 more coins than needed to expand, they said they cannot replace them due to my error or regret.... Wtf?

O because I did the same thing in fashion story. I think you just have to earn them back by making a certain amount of something alot

Unfortunately you cannot get your spent gems back! I had 75 gems and accidentlly clicked on a mystery box and it wasted 24 gems. I was so annoyed as I only had 51 gems left.
