The one on the left means base running. It tells how fast your player is when running the bases. The one on the right is fielding. It determines how well your player fields. There is a different one on the pitcher card in the place of the running spot, and I have yet to figure out what it is... If theres any further questions, google or wikipedia it. I've seen many helpful hints and tips on those search engines.

For batter cards:
Con= connection, or how well the player connects with the ball
Pow= power, how hard and how far the player can hit the ball
Eye= I think it means overall batting skill

Guest answered:

Con- batting contact, how well you connect with the ball
Pow- batting power, how far the ball will go if you get good contact
Eye- the batters eye, how well he can see the pitches thrown, it doesn't seem to matter when you're hitting tho

The person running is his overall speed, in feilding as well as baserunning, the mitt is his fielding ability

As for pitchers the ball I think is their overall pitching skill, the number of dashes on each pitch
