Patterns

Keep an eye out for patterns like how cranks and levers respond when you push them and knowing when a counter balance is needed. Having this knowledge as soon as possible will save you some moves.

Stage

Look for a different colouring of the stage as this is an easy way to tell which area is going to be moved by a nearby crank or wheel.

Pulleys

Use the pulleys to your advantage by placing barricades to divert the Crow people when they attempt to undo switches that you've pressed.

Keep Ida Visible

Remember, if Ida is out of view the likelihood is you will not be able to move her at that perspective. Always try and keep Ida visible to ensure that whatever you are planning will work.

Retrace Steps

The game has been designed so that you can never get yourself into a position that is impossible to get out of. There is no need to restart the game whenever you reach a dead end, just turn yourself around, retrace your steps and try again.

Prevent Wasting Time

Always make sure somewhere is accessible before attempting to reach it otherwise you will be wasting your time. If somewhere is accesible a white glowing ring will appear when you tap the screen. If there is no white glowing ring it indicates you cannot go there.

Landscape

A good strategy is to start each level off by exploring the landscape to see what things are there that can be rotated and moved and what Ida can interact with.

Path

Lay a path out in front of Ida if a level rotates, obstcles are based more on how you perceive them so try to make a note of what staiways connect where before you figure out the best way of getting Ida from point A to point B.

Totem Poles

When you encounter levels which have totem poles always make sure you first evaluate what the totem pole can help you reach before you move around too much.

Mistakes

Do not become too concerned when you make a mistake as the game is all about exploration and there is no risk of failing. You will know when you have completed something important in each of the stages because you will be unable to back to it.

Optical Illusion

If you get stuck make sure you look at the obstacle from different angles to ensure that it is not an opticle illusion as sometimes you will find a staircase or a connection is made at one angle that completely disappears from view in another.

Crows

Although Crows are harmless they do have a tendency to get in the way and it will require a bit of trickery and timing to get around them. Usually there will be a section of monument that can be raised to obstruct their paths.

Cranks

Learn how cranks and rotation devices manipulate the landscape at the beginning of a level and use that knowledge to help you figure out what is the best way to move around and utilize them to your advantage.

Paths

Keep an eye out for paths as more often than not they are a visual clue directing you where to proceed in the game when you are lost.
