When you have managed to put together enough good attacks in a round you will have access to a Metal Slug which is a one-time use only bonus that will rampage through the stage running over everyone in it's path and turn the tide of battle in your favour.

A good way to earn extra medals and bonuses that you can then use in your camp is to rescue P.O.W.s as they are usually tied up and stationary which makes them easy to spot.

Your soldiers will automatically attack with their most basic weapon but once they light up in blue flames you will be able to tap them and get a stronger secondary technique such as grenades or machine guns. Maake sure you keep an eye out for when these indicators appear.

Make sure that in-between rounds you use the medals you have earned to upgrade your offensive and defensive tools so you prepared for the coming rounds.

Play ranked matches and win them to earn free medals, just make sure you have plenty of good troops as you will find competition tough.

It is worth replaying stages over and over again until you have realeased all the prisoners as this will earn you decent bonuses that will make playing the game and getting tickets easier.

Each soldier has it's own individual super power that can be triggered when they start to glow blue. Be careful though that you do not waste it as they each have a different action and range.

Upgrading of the AP generation that requires 40 points should be your first move regardless of what stage you are on. The quicker you are able to APs the easier you will find it to build troops. Your next move after that would ideally be launching your cheapest soldier into battle.
