Make sure that you blow any horns you encounter because once Horn learns a song you can use it to clear debris and reveal paths.
Pay close attention for any tendancies and preferences monsters may have when they attack and use that information to counter them. When you find yourself in trouble rely on the right and left roll buttons to avoid taking damage.

Whenever possible forge different weapons so you have options for when you ecounter enemies and don't concentrate on levelling just one weapon up.
Don't just hack away at enemies, all monsters have a weakness which you need to locate and expose. When you have learned the enemy's weak spot concentrate your efforts on it until you kill it.
Keep an eye out for fire pits as they can be used to clear paths. This will involve using the crossbow and firing an arrow directly through the flame towards whatever is blocking Horn's path. Look for a patch of land that is a different colour from the surrounding area and stand there when firing the arrow.
Make sure that while you are at the blacksmith's forge you equip a pendant as this will give Horn additional health, attack and critical chance boosts.
Make sure you have a stock of Exploding Pybooms and Pygite Potions ready for when you encounter powerful enemies. Exploding Pybooms will temporarily stun monsters and lets you score hits while the Pygite Potions will refill Horn's life bar.

Whenever you see a tall patch of grass next to a tiny hill there is a good possibility you will find a hidden passageway behind it which will lead to Pygite crystals, a treasure chest or even the solution to a puzzle.
Use the crossbow to shoot the floating Pygons that bob up and down through the air to get a small amount of Pygite. The crossbow has an infinite amount of ammo.
Take advantage of the on-screen cues you are given during a battle as these moves will enable you to either attack your foe with powerful strikes that will temporarily stun them giving you the opportunity to whittle away the creature's life bar without the threat of retaliation or avoid a monster's attack.
Don't forget to keep looking up to see if there are any grappling points as these will lead to treasure cheats, cores and Pygite crystals. When you find one switch to first person Crossbow mode and hit the target, Horn will do the rest.
Quitting the game and returning to the 'Title' screen during a mission will mean that you will have to restart that mission from the beginning. If you instead press the iPhone or iPad's Home button to exit there is a chance that you will be able to pick up the game where you left off.
