In some parts of a dungeon perk action buttons will appear to help you. You will though need to spend some coins to unlock them.
Kill weakened enemies using a finisher, if you manage to tap the icons before they disappear you will get a longer finisher and a health or wrath boost.
You can stop most incoming attacks by holding the Block icon. To stop an enemy combo which can break your block and leave you vulnerable you need to press the Block icon right before a light attack connects.
Even when you have found perks you will still have to spend some coins to unlock them.
Don't forget to spend your Character points, make sure you upgrade whenever possible.
Rolling is more effective than pure blocking as it allows you to dodge your foe's attack and strike while they are still flailing.
