Fast Start

To get a fast start rev the engine until the needle is in the launch zone and tap the 'Launch' button immediately the countdown has completed, then tap to shift right before the RPM needle hits the red. Tap the nitrous if you need extra an extra boost.

Nitrous

To replenish nitrous you need to either draft off the other cars on the road or perform jumps. To gain the most nitrous by drafting you need to draft for as long as possible and switch lanes right before you are about to run into a car. Use the nitrous you receive as soon as you get it to maintain your speed.

Car Multiples

When you have four multiples of the same stock of any car you will be able to trade it in for it's performance version which is much faster and superior all round.

Takedown

A Takedown street race will sometimes appear during Story mode and the objective will be to ram into a specific car a certain number of times so you eventually flip over the vehicle incapcitating the driver. Takedown is more about strategy than speed.

Cosmetic Upgrades

Although cosmetic upgrades will not improve the performance of your car they will increase your ride's Syle points. When you have enough Style points you will get extra coins and other resources every time you race. Only consider doing cosmetic upgrades when you can spare the gold and know you are going to use the car often, cosmetic upgrades include paint, vinyls, tires and spoilers.

Police

There are some street races that will turn into stages where you are being chased by the police, these stages are won by reaching the finish without being caught by them. When a police car tries to block your path by spinning sideways you will need to avoid them by tapping quickly to move to the far lane.

Crates

Buying crates is expensive, premium crates which ensure that you get at least a class D vehicle will set you back a four-digit sum while standard crates will hold cars from class E on up are less. You will need to save up your gold if you want to max out your garage.

Performance Upgrades

You can do performance upgrades to six different areas of your car when you have both the specified number of coins and the correct number of wrenches. The areas of your car you can upgrade are engine, gearbox, chassis, suspension, nitrous and tires.

Drifting

Drifting takes skill and practice to master as you need to keep your car centered on the line of arrows on the track to rifil the nitrous. To perform a drift you need to hold a finger on the screen and drag to turn the car keeping an eye on the colour of the arrows as you do it. Green arrows mean you are on the correct line, yellow arrows indicates you are close, and red arrows mean you are way off and need to adjust as quickly as possible to get back to the center.

Car Parts

Once you have performed five upgrades on an area of your car it will be maxed out and you will need to use parts to boost it to the next level. There are specific part for different classes of cars and can be won as rewards for winning races or purchased with gold in crates in the game's store.

Oil Change

After you have raced five times your car will need an oil change, this does not cost anything but will take several hours to complete and you can only have one car serviced at a time. To speed this process up you can level up which will automatically change the oil for ALL your cars, use a speed item or by joining a Crew and asking fellow members for help.

Ranked Races

Use the ranked races to earn extra rewards so you can better prepare your car for the Story mode levels. Ranked race types alternate with each win or loss.
