Unless you buy an additional engineer for 750 Gold you will only be able to have one construction or building in progress at a time.

Fuel and Supplies are the two basic resources you will be managing early in the game. They are both important but focus on Supplies first as they are needed to build and upgrade structures and defences.

There are some Single-Player missions that are boss levels and will feature unique special units that you will not have seen in PvP battles and will cause you problems, the deployment zones in these levels will also cause you problems as they are often situated in inconvenient places that will not allow you to bypass certain defenses easily.

Make sure that you implement a variety of weapons when planning your base defense so you are equipped to counter different enemy attacks. Two defenses that are particularly effective are the Domed Defense and Rally Flag, both of which are customisable provided you are a high enough level.

Always upgrade the Troop tarmac whenever possible as it will enable you to hold more of any given unit at one time, you can speed up this process by tapping the lightning bolt icon that is on the side of the screen and spending Gold.

A good strategy is to construct the Alliance Building as this will allow you get help from other players, speed up upgrades, send resources, and make you eligible for special Alliance loot.

Make sure that when you are selecting territories to assault on the world map you make your priority the areas that are marked with an exclamation point. These are areas that have already been cleared but are in danger of falling back into enemy hands.

Early in the game favour storage over production so you have somewhere to store the Fuel and Supplies you gather when you do Single-Player attacks on the world map.

Timing is the most important factor on attack missions, the best strategy is not to drop all your troops at once but to consider the strengths and weaknesses of your units vs. The defenses of the base you are attacking and plan accordingly.

To activate actions like the various air support attacks during combat you will need to use Command Points, these are earned whenever you destroy an enemy building.

You will gain the ability to place troops one at a time instead of as entire squads when you have upgraded your base to level 4. This ability becomes helpful when you are attacking bases for the first time as you will have a chance to test tactics without committing a whole squad at once. Tap on your base and then the helicopter icon that appears on the menu at the bottom of the screen to switch between squad and single unit deployment.

A green arrow below buildings and defenses indicates that they are eligible to be upgraded. You will though need to be a certain level and have the required resources on hand to perform the upgrade.
