Eventuall you will encounter the 'Ant Lion' which burrows up from under the ground. Tap on it when you see it to make it disappear. If you let it escape it will cause damage to your village.

At the start of the game where you have to help the ladybug and get rid of the stink bug that randomly appears just tap the ladybug once to help her off her back and tap on the stink bug three times. The stink bug will move to a new location each time you tap it so you will have to look for it.
