Characters

The Warlock and the Gladiator are both melee characters, the difference being is that the Warlock can inflict more damage than the Gladiator who because of his shield has more defensive abilities. You can level up each character individually and switch between them at any time from the 'Game Settings' menu.

Quests

You can view a list of the current quests that can be accessed by going to the scroll on the left side of the 'Main' screen. Quests will have tasks that need to be completed and these can range from defeating a certain level for the first time to killing a certain number of enemies in a level, the later of which may need multiple runs through that level to achieve.

Gear Score (GS)

Your GS reflects how powerful your character is overall and is a sum of the individual GS values of your currently equipped weapon, armour and accessories. Each level has a recommended GS and there will be some levels that you will not be able to enter if your GS is not a high enough number.

Enemies

Basic attacks using abilities will easily defeat most enemies. The boss battles though cannot generally be won by attacking head-on and require that you pay attention to the specific pattern of timming attacks the boss has to figure out safe times and angles before you commit to an attack. Use potions or revive scrolls during boss battles as this is the only time they are likely to be used.

Speed

As soon as you enter a level you are on a timer so speed is an important factor to getting the best possble grade. Try to kill the enemies as quickly as possible and keep moving in the direction the arrow points to.

Runes

Inserting spirits (Runes) into your weapons and armour is another way to imporve them. Runes are diamond or triangle-shaped items which you find that grant you extra elemental bonuses. You will need to spend gems to drill a socket into the item you want to improve to place the Rune.

Events

Events are different from the normal stages, the goal of events is to survive for a certain amount of time against ongoing waves of enemies. An additional goal in events that can earn you rewards depending on where you place on the leaderboard is slaying a certain kind of monster. Special gear can be equiped to improve your chances of killing event monsters.

Guilds

It is not manadatory to join a guild but being part of a higher level guild will enable you to win better loot from successful event battles. The level of a guild can be raised by each of the members donating currency and special items called Relics.

Skills

Skills have a specific order of progression, whenever you level up you will be able to buy and improve specific skills using coins. To skip to other skills will cost you gems.

Passive and Active Skills

Passive skills will either grant bonuses at all times or activate automatically under certain circumstances while active types will map to a button in the lower-right corner of the screen.

Increase GS

The way to increase your GS is to find better equipment from either tributes or drops, rare items and those with a higher minimum level almost always have a higher GS value. Alternatively you can fuse unwanted items to improve the GS of the ones you want to keep.

NPCs

If you look around the town in-between quests you will encounter various NPCs who can help you with a variety of different tasks. It is not necessary to find these NPCs though as all their functions can also be accessed from the slide-out menu on the right-hand side of the screen.
