Free Coins

Check the map when you open the game for a yellow box as this indicates you have been rewarded a small amount of free silver coins which you can collect by simply tapping it. This yellow box tends to be found near your current level but you may have to scroll up and down the map to find it. Note: This yellow box usually appears twice a day.

Quest Rewards

It is important to remember that when you complete quests you have to manually collect your rewards to get them.

Balloons

Remember that bubbles and cages are only affected by balloons inside of them while pigs and their forts are affected by balloons next to them.

Hatchlings

Hatchlings are earned on the level icon when you complete levels with Hatchlings, they will be added to your inventory.

Stronger Power-Ups

Used on their own one at a time the Rocket, Bomb, and Laser Gun power-ups are useful but if you combine them you will discover it will create a much stronger version of them.

Send Lives

Whether you have decided to connect with Facebook or not you will sometimes get a pop-up requesting lives for friends. Sending lives to your Facebook friends or the random 'imaginary' friends the game assigns you if you have not connected to Facebook will not cost you anything and more often than not will give you lives back in return.

Combining Power-Ups

Two power-ups will automatically combine and become a much stronger version when they are touching on the board. Try to combine power-ups whenever possible.

Silver Coins

Silver coins is the main currency in the game are are earned for completing levels, turning in quests, and as prizes in the Daily/Weekly tasks. Silver coins can be used to buy some pre-game boosters.

Nearly Everything Floats Up

In Angry Birds Blast nearly everything floats up unlike the Candy Crush and Bejeweled games where tiles fall down onto the board from above. The only things that don't float up even if an empty space appears above them are non-balloon objects such as Piggies, their forts, and cages.

Defeating Minion Pigs

You will defeat Minion Pigs if two sets of balloons are popped near them.

Quest List

You can view a list of Quests and how many Hatchlings you currently have by tapping on the 'Quest' menu, this is the third icon down on he right side of the 'Map' screen above 'ToonsTV'.

Identifying Power-Ups

When you clear a set of balloons you will earn a power-up which will be visible on the balloons themselves by replacing the face of the bird inside.

Rocket Power-Up

Remember when you earn a Rocket power-up that it changes direction each turn so if it is facing the wrong direction just move something else so that hopefully on your next turn the Rocket power-up has moved so it is facing the correct direction allowing you to either clear a row or a column.

Daily/Weekly Task

Once you have beaten level 25 the Daily/Weekly task will become an available option. In this feature you are given an opportunity to remove as many Pigs as possible in the moves available. You will be given two free plays of this everyday and you will not lose hearts when you lose which makes it ideal to play when you have run out of hearts and are waiting for a refill.

Shoehorned In

Avoid getting shoehorned in by working on making smaller matches on either side of the board.

Placing Power-Ups

On a large group of balloons you have collected you can control which one a power-up will appear by simply tapping on the balloom. Power-ups float up so take advanage of this to reach a specific row or cloumn with an explosion.

Trading Coins

You can always trade your gold coins in for silver by tapping on your silver coin total on the 'Map' screen. Remember though before you decide to trade in your gold coins that they are a lot more valuable than silver coins as they are harder to get.

Popping Balloons

A good tactic when you have large groups of balloons ready to pop is to pop them from the bottom so you avoid messing up all your balloon sets. If you don't have many good options available then you will find it more beneficial to tap near the top so that new balloons float into place and hopefully improve your options.

Gold Coins

Gold coins are the premium currency of the game and are rarely earned, they tend to be given as special gifts or rewards, like logging in to Facebook. Gold coins can be used to buy purchasable power-ups and continues upon losing a level.

Bubbles

To make bubbles go away you need to pop the Bird that is underneath them.

Free Booster

When you lose a level and choose not to spend gold coins on continuing you will be returned to the level's overview screen which will have a 'Retry' option. If you decide to retry you will be offered a free booster in exchange for watching an advertisement video. Note: This option is not always available.

Long Single Column

It is important that you avoid creating a long single column as doing so will make it a lot more difficult to make matches as there will be nothing on either side to potentially group your standalone column.

Quests

It is important to remember when you complete quests that you manually collect your rewards to get them.

Bonus Lives

The lives you recieve from friends can be collected from your messages inbox whenever you want. There is no need to use them straight away, it is more beneficial to save them until you reach a particularly tricky level.
