Full Review for inFamous by EternalSD

Introduction

I've always been a freak of karma based games, yet never found one that could measure up to my exceptions until now. Infamous undoubtedly takes the cake in this one, with it's Anti-Hero, Super Hero Karma based powers. No neutral karma but that's okay. Whether you choose to save the city or destroy you'll have a hell of a blast doing it. Lets take a dive in the wonderful world of Infamous

Graphics

The graphics were great, not the best, but still great, it could have been the fact I use a HDPC LCD Monitor, that makes the graphics a little less then what you would get if you were using a HDTV but they were great just the same. The vivid color brought a lot of the game to life. The feel of empire city was brought to life when wreaking havoc or choosing to save the city beating up the bad guys. Though there were times when the graphics felt bland, but that was used to display the mood of such. The look of the lighting powers when you used them was cool yes "cool" Whenever Cole used his lighting storm, I just simply gazed at the vivid color as it struck enemies down while avoiding the innocent.

Sound

The sound. The Peanut to Jelly in gaming. Can make or break the game depending on how good it is. It sets the mood , if the sound is bad, it creates a bad taste in the players mind. Which puts them off. If the sound is amazing it will bring the player back wanting more. The sound in this game was up to par with the rest. Though there were times when the music didn't match the mood of the battle, which was off putting. Even then, the music would suck me back in by changing once again, to bring me back. As you begin to rebuild the city or tear it apart the sound changes to a sinister tune, or heroic melody. Sucker Punch Productions knew fully what they were doing. If you don't like the sound in this game clearly you weren't paying attention.[url][/url]

Gameplay

The game-play. The icing on the cake. The graphics can be amazing mind blowing, fantastic, but if the game-play sucks, well, your not going to give players a reason to play your game longer. Infamous though isn't that game. The game-play is fun, the combat is superb. I have some grips though, there were times when I feel to my death do to slipping inside a building or going through a fence. Or strike an important enemy only to have them fall through the floor forever. Despite all this the game is amazing. Whether it'd be hunting down Kessler, finding John, wondering who the hell Moya is which is put to rest by your best pal Zeke. To fighting for your life as the story goes on. To the final confrontation with.... Well not going to spoil it for you. You'll have a hell of a Blast. The powers could have used a bit of work. It felt as though Mega Watt Hammer, and Shock Grenade were basically the same thing. The over powered Electric Blades were useful only to strong enemies. Well Unless your one on one against a med-weak enemy. Overall the game will have you wanting more.

Lastability

Like most games re-playability or Last-ability is key. Infamous is about as long as 10 hours, 15 hours if you struggle a bit. There are 40 Missions in all. I have no comment on the length of said mission. It depends on your skill. For me they were 20 mins. After beating the game theres more, you now have to put Empire City back to good, yes good because new would be an overstatement. Or you destory it all if you choose to be evil. Even so after playing it once, you'll have to play it more to understand the story, to hear a lot of things you've missed.

Overall

All in all Infamous it's just a game for everyone. Well not everyone if your not a electro-freak. Sandbox Super hero lover, or into third person action. Well still give it a shot you might like it a lot. Not might you will like it. The game-play is amazing despite tiny setbacks. The sound is amazing. The Last-ability is long, you'll playing this game hours on end. Or until you understand whats going on fully. Infamous gets a 9 out 10.
