Introduction

On September 13 2006, Harvest Moon DS hit the stores in the U.S. It was already in Japan for a good while. It's basically a normal Harvest Moon game. Grow crops, raise animals, sell the products, and get married and have a child. This game is the conterpart of the Gamecube game "Magic Melody" a game somewhat similar to HMDS.

Graphics

Natsume didn't use the DS's graphic capacity. If you played Friends of Mineral town you'll see the grapics haven't really changed. They haven't improved that much either. They're just normal, old fasinoned sprites. They're not like FF III or The New Super Marior Bros, but it's the game, not the graphs.

Sound

The music can be annoying at times. If you want to bother a sibling or someone at work, put the sound to the loudest level, and then ring the bell in the Inner Inn, while having the speakers in that person ears. Just to be clear, the music is just plain annoying. You'd rather listen to your MP3 Player than this.

Gameplay

The Witch Princess was angry with the Harvest Goddess. She wanted to cast a spell on the Goddess so she couldn't say Tadaaa anymore. (no wonder this is rated E) To the princess's demise she used the wrong spell and sent her to another world. All 101 harvest sprites came and the Witch sent them to rescue the harvest goddess. Your main goal is to rescue the Harvest Goddess. To do so you need to rescue the harvest sprites. (only 60) To rescue the you have to do normal tasks. You farm. There are goals like: ship 100 items, milk you cows 1000 times ect. There will be some similar characters from a Wonderful Life and FOMT & MFOMT, and if you have the MT games, you can marry one of the MT girls.

Lastability

Once you get married, your kid is a young adult, and your farm can't improve, you rescued all 101 sprites, there's really not much else to do. You could start over and marry someone else, (a magic girl maybe, they're always a challenge) and start your farm all over again, but that doesn't really have a high enjoyment level.

Overall

The game is fun, but once you reach your goals, there aren't any left. I have heard rumors that this game has been recently canceled in the US so if youur a hardcore Harvest Moon fan, you should get this game before the game is discontinued and it turns into a collectors item.
