Introduction

A remake of the Harvest Moon game for the Gamecube. For the record, AWL stands for "A Wonderful Life", and that's the abbreviation I will be using throughout this review. In Harvest Moon: AWL, you do the same thing that you do in the other Harvest Moon games, you farm and make a family.
The game is divided into 'Chapters'. Each chapter represents a couple of years in your life. There are four seasons in each chapter and each season has ten days. A second in real life is the same as a minute in the game.
The main point in the game is to become friends with everyone in the village, get a wife and kid, and run a successful and profitable farm. There are quite a few ways to do each thing. But, here is the rest of the review.

Graphics

The graphics in this game are really bad.
Compared to the gamecube version, it's even worse.
There are plenty of glitches in the game, and the graphics aren't always in-sync with your button presses. Possibly, the best thing about the graphics is the water. It sure isn't the best, but it looks quite good compared to the quality of the other game graphics.
The character's don't look half bad, but their facial expressions are incredibly boring. Their mouth movements are really lame. The building detail is okay. They added some good effects like moss and rust, but it still doesn't look that great.

Sound

The sound quality is really good, but there really isn't anything else good about the sound.
The only really good thing about the sound is the background music. The records you can collect throughout the game are great. Some of them are a bit too 'jolly' but I still like them. You can only hear the records when they're on the record player and when you are in range with your farm.
Walking into some buildings will add a different background track too. I like the variety.
While walking, your character's feet make different sounds depending on the terrain you are walking on. But, sometimes it will make the sound of a different terrain then the type that you are walking on, which really sounds bad.

Gameplay

Well, you have to plant trees and crops. You water them and harvest them when needed. Then you have to talk to your animals and take care of them.
Other than that, you only need to make friends with everyone in the village.
There really is no point in the game. That's all I really have to say.

Lastability

Short and sweet. The game gets boring. Fast.
You find yourself doing the same thing each and every day with only slight variety and only unlocking a few things once every season basically. There really isn't much to do except farm and make friends with people.
I gave it a nine, not based on how boring it gets, but how long the game itself can last if you play it all the way through. I did lower the points though, because of the boring parts.
The game has a total of six story-line chapters. If you don't get bored while playing them, you will end up in the 'never-ending' part of the game. Which, obviously, doesn't end.

Overall

The graphics and sound are really bad, with only a few positives. They aren't in-sync with each other or with your button presses.
The gameplay gets boring quickly, and you repeat the same thing each and every day with only a few differences, and those differences are small.
This game, overall, probably isn't worth the original price. If you can find a cheaper version of the game, you might want to at least try the game just for the experience. And that's it.
