Here are some hints, tips and secrets that you may not otherwise have known about Sunset Valley.
Graveyard secrets: At the Pleasant Rest Graveyard, there is plenty to see and do.
Firstly, the catacombs underneath the lot is filled with ghosts, ghouls and is not for the faint-hearted Sim. Still worth a visit though! You may also come across a Mysterious Mr. Gnome! You also get some great items from it, and some humorous choices to make in the meantime.
If you turn up at night, ghosts will be roaming the graveyard. You can move gravestones from where a Sim dies, such as a family member in your house, to the Pleasant Rest Graveyard to stop them from pestering your Sims at home (and messing up your appliances!). You can then visit them there. Look out for the graves of Sims you once knew in the cemetery, and their ghosts! Some Sims have a desire to see a ghost.

Use the Papyrus Memorial Library to learn as well as relax. In addition to all the educational books, there is also a computer and the slightly less education play room mentioned above.
If you follow the military career, you receive special interactions with Fort Gnome Military Base. You can also show dates and friends around, which may or may not impress them.
If you follow the criminal career line, your house will never be robbed.
On the beach, Sims can interact with the icebox to serve food and drinks to friends.

Sunset Valley contains many collectibles, in addition to all the books, household objects and other items more closely associated with everyday life. These include the Robot Fish and Vampire Fish, as well as the iconic Mysterious Mr. Gnomes. More details on possible locations for these are below.

Unfortunately no :( I know there are some mods that may allow it but I've searched everywhere for cheats.
Yes there is a mod you would have to use: Nraas Mastercontroller. With this installed you click on the sim then select "advanced", then from the next menu that pops up select "skills". You can now select one or more skills to change levels.
[spoiler][/spoiler] look up on youtube realestate cheat for sims 3. Im pretty sure it works its when you get a free house. But, first you have to have on 'teatsunabledtrue' onthen pick a house. Hope it works good luck guys!
Go to the appliance section then pick the tri forge stove...keep cooking till you reach 10...Your SIM will get tired but BUY the best coffee maker ( small appliance) espresso xti_french beverage maker....click on to maker and choose make beverages....saves time....I always play on puppet. .that way you have full control of you SIM....when you reach level 10 Go to the bookstore....choose the bakers hat and buy recipe books and learn all the recipes....if you want a great fridge.. after learning all recipes....join the cooking or culinary career at either CHEZ FRANCOIS or RUSTIC CRUST BAKERY.....IF YOU DONT HAVE money to buy the books....it will take longer....but make friends with Cevin and Vasquez..can't remember her fist name....meet with both in mornings and evenings and SHARE COOKING SECRETS. Found in the social content...
You mostly get the mysterious gnome by fishing..I've found him mostly at the fishing pond across the street from penny and Trevor house(usually one of the first houses you can purchase at the start of the game) or the funshi garden pond...usually the better Fisherman you are the better....I've used him around the house but haven't noticed anything but him changing locations...if you put him in the barhroom for decorations. .. for instance....you may find him in the kitchen or outside...

Actually u still can be robbed if u r in the criminal career, once my sim robbed his own house at work!
Money tree: crtl+shift+c -> "testingcheatsenabled true" -> enter
Next, ctrl+shift+c -> "buydebug" -> enter
Look through all the categorys and voila!
Celebrity(expansion Late Night)
ctrl+shift+c -> "testingcheatsenabled true" -> enter
Next, shift+click on the person u wanna make famous
Next, choose celebrity
Next, choose something like starpoints
Next, type in "500"

There is no cheat for that but many of this skill can easily get full skill by using Cerebralizing Brain Enchancing Machine 2.0 if you got The Sims 3 University Life.. Hope i help btw there a still some skills you got to do it Yourself
im pretty sure I just killed my sim in the catacombs she hasn't come out and they keep yelling turn back !!!!
if u guys want LOSTS life time happiness? then all u gotta do is go 2 main menu type, in "testingcheatsenabled true" and then choose your family and then go to ur sims life time happiness pannel and you you see a small tresure chest and the number of life time happiness points that u have. hold ctrl and then press inbetween the tresure chest and the number and TADA!!! you get 500 happiness points!!! (u can click as much as u like!)
I know a secret / easter egg if you go into music = pop = cody simpson there if you make it go backwards it says all the words
