Desmond Sequence 02

You are now standing back on the Beach on Animus Island, and the next memory awaits!  You will want to enter the data gate that is the second from the left on the beach ahead of you -- when you have completed a memory the gate should no longer glow -- but no worries as when you enter it tells you what memory it is that you are about to enter, and you can back out of you chose the incorrect gate...

This time the path is a little different, as it uses these data streams as both the visual representation of information and a path you must follow but as you will see it actually has momentum and force inside of the core....

As you enter the level head forward and use your blocks to reach the beam in the center of the chamber and then look up in the center of the wall above and you will see the exit -- create blocks in a climbing pattern to reach that and go in.  At the end is a data stream flowing up -- the data stream actually acts upon the blocks, not on you, so you need to create a set of blocks and jump on it to float up.  When you get to the top exit through the small opening and you will be in the next chamber.

You can see the exit above behind a pillar that is poking up into the chamber -- just build a trail of blocks leading you up and past the pillar to the exit, move through this small path to the other side, and you will then enter the Data Cube Chamber.

-- Data Cube Chamber --

The easiest way to navigate through this area is to drop down near the bottom and pop a set of blocks to land on, and then work your way across the chamber avoiding the Data Cubes for obvious reasons.  When you get to the point where your way is temporarily blocked wait for the large cube to move out of the way and then quickly cross over and drop down the second hole, creating a block set to stop your fall halfway down and then moving to the ledge ahead of you that leads to the next area.

There is a snowing field of data here -- pretty -- but while it is pretty indeed it also presents something of a danger to you in that it acts upon your blocks, pushing them down.  So what you need to do is quickly and smoothly place them and move along ahead then turn left and go smoothly to the far ledge.

Once you arrive turn and look back into the chamber and up and you will see the first Multi-Player Emblem for this memory.  You will need to build a block path up to it to grab it --  the best way to do that is like I do in the video, where you construct the path up outside of the data field so that your blocks are not in it and thus are not pushed down.  The Emblem is on a ledge above -- you cannot really tell that from below, but basically you can easily build a path from the ledge below to the ledge above without ever entering the data field.

Do that now -- and once you have it, return to the ledge and continue along the path!

Desmond's Second Memory: Assassin Training

-- The Mixed Field Room --

Around the corner you need to build a set of blocks up and exit via the opening above, then

This next area is a bit more challenging since it contains the data streams and the other type that causes the blocks to collapse.  Your best tactic for getting through here is pop a set of blocks and float above the negative field, cross over and drop down on the ledge below, then build into the second rising field that pushes you towards the data pillars -- you do not want to touch those by the way.  You then simply build towards the wall and then along it until you can drop down onto the ledge that leads to the next area and voila!  Easy-Peasey-Lemon-Squeezy!

The next area is more of the same -- start by creating blocks and riding them all the way to the top but stay near the right side of the room as the force of the field will eventually draw your blocks to the left side.  Keep building to the right and avoid the large black data blocks until you can drop down onto the ledge below -- I think that ledge is actually the force that disrupts your blocks in the first place but whatever, it is the gap between the two types of data streams.

Once you drop onto that ledge walk to the other side and there is a data stream flowing up -- build some blocks and ride them up and look for the the ledge above on the opposite side -- that is where you want to go, but the stream that is flowing up is unstable so you may need to build more blocks to hop onto in one direction or the other depending on the flow.  Just avoid hitting the large data blocks, right?

-- The Third Chamber --

When you head around the corner you will see the third chamber -- there is a pair of brown walls with pictures on them ahead to the right, and behind the second wall near the corner that they form is the second (last) MP Emblem for this memory.  Simply build a block path around the walls and then drop down and grab the Emblem.

Now all that remains is for you to drop down the pit that the two walls are beside -- which is a lot easier than you probably fear...  Basically there are data blocks with gaps -- your blocks that hit the data blocks get deleted but the blocks that do not hit them do not get deleted.  Look at it like you are surfing your blocks between nasty jutting coral reefs -- all you need to do is make sure you have a block to surf between each of the reefs!

Look down the entire time, make your blocks in the direction of the opening but with an emphasis upon making them parallel to it, and then surf on through the opening!  When you reach the bottom build a path to the portal and head through, and you unlock the Achievement "The Reluctant Assassin" (20 GS) for completing Desmond Sequence 2 as well as unlock another pair of Multi-Player Emblems.  Well done!
