Altruist Acolyte (5 G)

Latest update by CMBF on Oct 3rd 2013
Altruist Acolyte (5 G) Deliver an unsuspecting victim to the Altruist Cult.

Based upon the chat on the boards this is one of the least-understood Achievements in the list -- basically what this is in a nutshell is an opportunity to make a quick $1K for minimal effort and help out your friendly neighborhood cult at the same time. Needless to say this is right up Trevor's alley!

As you progress the game through story mode and pass the story mission “Friends Reunited”you will eventually unlock the ability to deliver victims to the cult -- you will know that this is available because as you are riding around and get one of the many random encounters in which the stranger needs a ride, when they get into your car you will get a notification saying that you can deliver them to the Altruist Camp on Mount Chilliad.

Once you get that message you have a choice -- you can either take the person to their preferred destination (the yellow line and dot on the map) OR you can set a purple marker as the alternate destination to the camp up in the mountains.

We did this with one of the drunks because the conversation that takes place on the rather long ride was far more entertaining... But YMMV.

Either way you only need to do this one time in order to unlock the Achievement -- but bear in mind that delivering the victim to the Altruist camp means you will not get credit for that random encounter. No worries though, since the ones you don't get credit for will res-pawn for you.

We completed this as Trevor -- and are pretty sure that this is a Trevor-specific mission and not one you can do as the other two characters because of the nature of the mission. It is what an old-school D&D gamer would call a Chaotic-Neutral Aligned Mission, heh.
