Introduction

GTA III was the first game in the series to go 3D after the phoney predecessors. Yes, I know it's over a decade old but I would still recommend this game! Even though Vice City, San Andreas and the advanced IV are way better than this game, GTA III is still a great game for those seeking classics!

Graphics

Not the best graphics in the world but still pretty good. The dull environment is preventing it from looking that attractive. There are a couple of texture flaws too. Such as when you drive around the city, the textures take too long to load! But overall, it's much more attractive once you start playing it!

Sound

The sound isn't all that realistic. The car horns don't give much city-like feel like it does in IV. Not much sounds give any realistic feel until you hear sirens after pissing off the cops or a train passing by! At least the awesome soundtrack makes up for it and like every GTA game, presented as an in-game radio!

Gameplay

Gameplay is excellent! Storyline is well presented, nothing that boring. Basically, you play as a mute criminal named Claude. You have been betrayed and left for dead by your ex-girlfriend Catalina during a bank heist upstate. You get certain jobs to do until the revenge during the climax.

You can do many things as well as the storyline missions such as doing rampages in remote-controlled cars (it's just funny, killing people with toys!); taking a ride in a subway train; being a taxi driver; doing checkpoint races; trying to master flight of the Dodo (the flyable plane in the game); or just run around, attracting cops, stealing cars and basically causing havoc! There are millions of different ways to play this game and there are even secrets to unlock!

Lastability

With all this awesome gameplay in place with a 3D non-linear engine, this game could last you months or even years if you are that crazy! Because you can explore the New York based city and do whatever you want plus unlimited lives, it's never "GAME OVER"! Even after completing the game, you can still keep playing it although it does get kind of boring after a total 100% game completion!

Overall

Overall, this game is recommended for those wanting something to pass the time on any PC! You don't need a hardcore PC to play this game! You can just insert the disk into a 96 MB Windows 98 PC with a decent hard drive and the game works perfectly! A huge success!
