Bravo Team has gone missing, so it's up to the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team to find them. The team look around the Arklay Mountains until they find an abandoned helicopter. Upon further inspection, they discover the pilot, dead. Then, some of the team are killed by a hoard of zombie dogs while the others, including Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine, make it to a mansion. They decided to seek refuge there until they can figure out what to do next. However, they don't realise that the nightmare is just beginning. . . ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~. *CONTROLS. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Alpha Team and is very experienced in the areas of combat and weapons. While he is not too good at puzzles, Chris can fend off enemies better than Jill which really does come in handy during the game. He is however the hardest character in the game and can only carry six items at a time (whereas Jill can carry 8) and has no lockpick. He also has noone to help him when injured/in trouble/etc. so you need to be more careful when playing as him. Jill Valentine - - - - - - - - Jill is a member of S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team and is an expert at puzzles and, uh, playing the piano. The easier character of the game, Jill can carry eight items, and also has the Grenade Launcher unlikeChris who only gets the Flamethrower. Jill also has a lockpick, whereas Chris does not. Barry Burton - - - - - - - - Barry is a member of S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team. He only appears in Jill's scenario and helps her out in a few tricky situations. However as time goes on he starts to appear less and less. What is going on with him and why? Rebecca Chambers - - - - - - - - Rebecca is a surviving member of S.T.A.R.S Bravo Team. She appears in the mansion during Chris' scenario and helps him out when he is injured. Rebecca needs saving sometimes in the game but she can also really help you out in some cases. Richard Aiken - - - - - - - - Richard Aiken is another surviving member of S.T.A.R.S Bravo Team. Jill/Chris meets him at the beginning of the game when he is discovered after being bitten by a snake. You will need to save him by getting the serum, but be careful, because if you don't get it fast enough he will die. If you save him however you will be rewarded. Albert Wesker - - - - - - - - Wesker is a member of S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team and saves Chris at the beginning of the game. Then he mysteriously disappears and does not show up until later on in the game. He is a very shady character indeed. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~. *ENEMIES. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [04] Zombie - - - - Obviously the most common enemy of the game. Zombies appear in every single Resident Evil game, bar none. They can be killed using any kind of weapon, but the Beretta is the best way to kill them. Some zombies can come back later on in the game as you progress further. These newly upgraded zombies are known as 'Crimson Heads'. Cerebus - - - - These are the zombie dogs. They are very fast and can deal a lot of damage to you. The best way to deal with these pests is to blast them with the shotgun. They don't really appear much though, only several times in the game and mostly show up in the Courtyard. Crows - - - These pests are a real nuisance. They show up when you're outside in places like the Courtyard. Don't deal with them unless you really have to (i.e you're low on health) and just use the Beretta if you choose to shoot them down. Snake - - - They will poison you but if you just run by them they won't harm you. I suggest not killing them at all because it only wastes ammo, but if you want to just use the Beretta. Spider - - - - You'll meet the spiders at certain times in the game and the best way to kill them is a few shots from the Beretta. They'll try to poison you and if they succeed, there should be a Blue Herb not too far away from where you are, so use it to heal yourself. Crimson Head - - - - - - - One of the tougher enemies of the game. These guys are newly evolved zombies that get up when you walk past them. They are zombies you killed before but they have risen from the dead - twice. They will charge at you and swipe at you with their long claws. I suggest using the shotgun because otherwise they'll corner you. A few hits/bites from these guys will kill you, and it'll happen so fast if you don't use a weapon like the shotgun. Defence items work very well against Crimson Heads too, so if you're quite low on ammo, I suggest using them. Hunter - - - These big guys are fast on their feet so you'll want to get rid of them quickly before they can do any damage to you. Shotgun works best, especially the Assault, so I highly recommend that weapon. Chimera - - - - This highly annoying creature will introduce itself to you inside the laboratory. Only bother with the ones that corner you, just run past the rest. Use the shotgun or Assault shotgun, because they're really quick, even quicker than Crimsons or Hunters I'd say. Not really worth taking them on though since it only wastes ammo you'll need for later. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~. *TIPS. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [05] Fighting Zombies - - - - - - - - - Fighting Zombies can be quite a task. There are some very effective ways of doing this, such as waiting until the zombie comes right up to you then aiming up with whatever weapon you are using (though I prefer the shotgun) and blow their head right off. It saves ammo and saves them coming back as a Crimson Head. You can also use defence weapons on them when they are trying to bite you, by using the L button which will automatically have Jill or Chris use a dagger/grenade/stun gun battery on them. It may not kill them all the time but it will weakn them enough for you to kill them without suffering any damage. Fighting Crimson Heads - - - - - - - - - - - Same method as before. When they charge at you, wait til they're right there and aim up, blowing their heads off. Grenades when playing as Chris also work wonders on these things. Conserving Ink Ribbons and Ammo - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - You really do want to save your ink ribbons and ammo. Ink Ribbons are things you get to save your game. If you run out, you won't beable to save which can cause problems if you're injured or just want to stop playing. Don't save too frequently. And as for ammo, use the methods listed above on zombies, and you'll beable to save more of it for later on when it will be really needed. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~. *WEAPONS. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [06] Knife - - - The first weapon of the game for Chris and Jill also has it automatically. This weapon, to me, is quite useless. It is too slow and can't really kill any enemies that well. It is good for knifing zombies or other enemies when they're down but that's about it. Beretta - - - - The Beretta is a custom S.T.A.R.S. handgun used by Jill and obtained by Chris in the game. It is the main weapon of the game and the one you will have to use most often. It is great against normal enemies like zombies or spiders. It is however useless against enemies like Hunters or Crimson Heads. Oil Canteen - - - - - - You can use this as both Jill and Chris. You'll find it in the save room beside the stairs beneath the U shaped corridor. There are usually oil tanks in save rooms you can use to feel up your canteen with oil and then once you've killed a zombie that may come back as a Crimson, you can burn it and it won't be ressurected. There is not a lot of oil in the game so use this weapon wisely. Shotgun - - - - This weapon is found by Jill and Chris in the room just before the room outside of it starts to come down on both Jill and Chris (Jill is aided by Barry but Chris must find his own way out) to get it, Jill can just pick it up but Chris must use a broken shotgun to get it. This weapon is great against Crimson Heads and Hunters and other strong enemies like dogs. It throws them backwards and gives you enough time to fire again without being cornered. Assault Shotgun - - - - - - - - The Assault Shotgun is Richard's weapon which is aquired by both Jill and Chris in different parts of the game. It is aquired by Jill during the battle with Yawn the snake. It is aquired by Chris after draining the tank in the aqua ring of the Residence. You can only get your hands on this brilliant weapon if you save Richard in time. Otherwise, you won't get it. Grenade Launcher - - - - - - - - Only used by Jill in the game and found with Forrest Speyer's body on a balcony outside the mansion. This is probably the best weapon in the game. It can fire Grenade, Acid and Incendiary rounds. It is great against Boss fights and against Crimson Heads. It cannot however be used by Chris who must use the Flamethrower instead. Flamethrower - - - - - - This can only be used by Chris and is found in the catacomb area. It is not a very good weapon and does not do well against most enemies. Best to ignore this weapon and use the Assault Shotgun instead, which makes up for how bad the Flamethrower is. Magnum - - - - The Magnum is found by Jill and Chris in the courtyard using the Wind Crest. It is a great weapon but does not get much ammo. You should save it for later on in the game, like for the final fight with the Tyrant. It is great against all Bosses but should only be used for Boss Fights or Crimson Heads if need be. Self Defense Gun - - - - - - - - - This is a powerful weapon that will kill ANY enemy, including Bosses, in one hit. It is found by Jill and Chris in the room with the suicide note in the Residence. Rocket Launcher - - - - - - - - Can only be used during the final fight with the Tyrant at the end of the game by both Jill and Chris but will kill the thing in one shot if not distracted. It is the most powerful weapon in the game but can only be used against the Tyrant. Brad throws it down to help you finish the thing off. Dagger - - - - This is not a weapon, but a Defence Item. Defence items are weapons that you can use on zombies, or dogs or other enemies when you're grabbed by them (but not from behind, only from the front). You can use these defence weapons to stab the enemies and they usually go down very quickly. It is very handy but don't use them all the time, only when you really need to. Stun Gun (Jill Only) - - - - - This defence weapon can only be used when playing as Jill. It stuns enemies but doesn't always kill them. Still, it helps to finish them off when they're manhandling you. Same as the Dagger really. Flash Grenades (Chris Only) - - - - - - - - This defence weapon can only be used when playing as Chris. When you're in a dangerous situation you can shove one of these into a zombie's mouth, then step back and fire at them. The zombie's head will blow up, which is really handy if you're against a zombie which will turn into a Crimson Head later on. Be careful not to get too close when firing or you'll lose health. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~. *SUPPLIES. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . [07] Herbs - - - Herbs can be quite complicated things. You can combine different coloured herbs to get more health. Herbs will replenish your health after you've been injured in battle. Here are the way herbs work.. Green Herb = Heals quarter of your health Green + Green = Heals half of your health Green + Green + Green = Heals you completely Green Herb + Red Herb = Heals you completely Green Herb + Blue Herb = Heals quarter of your health + Cures poison Green Herb + Red Herb + Blue Herb = Heals you completely + Cures Poison Blue Herb = Cures poison Red Herb = N/A First Aid Spray - - - - - - - - These sprays heal you completely and can be found allover the game. Best to stock up on these as they don't occur as much as herbs do. Even if you're in danger of dying, these things will heal you back to full health.
