Can I make the hookshot longer and if I can where?
How do I make the statue get off the weighing thing in the sacred forest temple?

No you can't make the clawshot any longer, and at the temple you'll need to get lots of those iron helmet things on one of the sides to lift the wieght of the statue.

Sorry, but no, you cannot make the clawshot longer. The way I did the statue thing was put the statue on the weighing thing and go to the other side, get all those small iron statues to come down and put them all the weighing thing and they should go down so that the big statue is in the air, jump onto the weighing thing with the rest of the statues and make sure you put the big statue close to the edge so you can use the rod to bring it down onto the weighing thing with you, then pick up all them iron statues and throw them onto the other weighing thing that is in the air. You'll have to time it right so they won't bounce off the front of the weighing thing and drop back down, then once you get all of the other statues on the other weighing thing, climb out of the one your on and stand on the ground, the statue should be perfectly level with you and then use the rod and make the big statue follow you.

No, I don't think you can. Why would you want to, though? You can get to any place you need to with the allotted length, and you should use the bow to kill enemies out of your reach.
Use your Rod to get the little statues off the ledge, and use them to get enough weight to balance you and your Minion across the scale. Oh, and it's the Temple of Time, not the Sacred Forest temple. Just in case you didn't notice yourself going back in time.
You can do it.
