I don't think playing versus mode 700 times works but I can tell you how to get him just get a combined 20 hours of play on versus mode mewtwo will appear.

You will have to battle him and beat him if you dont just go to versus mode again and finish one battle orjust go to versus mode.

Pause it then hold L+R+A and press start and then youll have to battle him again just keep doing that till you unlock him.

To unlock mr game and watch beat classic mode with every character then youll face him beat him and then you have every character!!!!!!

I think you need to engage in one more battle. Otherwise, buy a controller, plug it in the second slot, then go to the Custom Rules section. Select "Stock" as your type, and leave the Stock amount alone.

Then, go to Item Switch, and at the top, select "None" as the chances of any items. Then enter a REGULAR MELEE BATTLE.

Nothing else, as I would rather that you don't waste time on something that might not work if not done the very way that worked for me.

Make sure there are no other players on the field exept the two Human players, engaged by the controllers in the slots.

Don't Pause, just leave the game on for 10 hours; which add-up to 20 hours (10 hours for each player added together.)

Then, make the second player lose all his lives.

Now you should fight Mewtwo.

You don't need two controllers, use Bowser with a .5 damage ratio, 99 lives. Set the CPU to a level one Jigglypuff, and set the handicap to your best advantage (You: 9, CPU: 1), and pick a level where you can't get knocked down easily.

Leave the game on overnight, and you should get about 12 hours, easy. Then, you face Mewtwo. If you can't beat him with Bowser, don't worry.

Just do the same thing with your best character, but with one life and a 2.0 damage ratio.

Then, you face Mewtwo with your best character.

nintendo_dude answered:

It is far easier to play for a combined VS play time of 20 hours. To beat Mewtwo use Kirby. Suck him in and jump off the edge. Then Mewtwo will be yours to keep.

gtasean88 answered:

It takes about 15 hours to get him.
